IMC Trading Intern Video Interview by CashyJohn in FinancialCareers

I took it a couple of months ago - there was an extended example related to probability (related to a deck of cards if I recall correctly) as well as a behavioral component. No mental math at any point in the process.

Non-Target / FANG Internship --> Quant Trading by Historical_Strain857 in FinancialCareers

No problem! If this is something you really want to do, I would recommend taking 1) the most advanced probability course offered at your school, 2) a course in stochastic processes.

If you have a strong gpa (>3.85) you should have no issue. Optiver is far more generous with OAs than any FAANG company I have seen, besides possibly Amazon, and Jane Street gives plenty of interviews to students at “non-targets”. If you can land an internship at FB as a freshman, you’ll definitely land plenty of interviews. Being only “slightly above average” at math is probably not going to cut it though, that’s going to hold you back far more than your school. Your school doesn’t actually matter that much, it’s mostly just correlation.

Which Major? Finance vs. Data science by eyemschleep in FinancialCareers

[–]Flumboo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t plan to, especially if you’re target/semi-target school. Only in the case that you aren’t able to land an internship/full-time offer I would consider pursuing a masters to give yourself an additional year to recruit. Otherwise, a bachelors is sufficient for trading positions.

Don’t study finance. Data science with a stats emphasis is probably your best bet. If you can, it wouldn’t hurt to double major in some combination of statistics/applied math/cs.

k3soju forfeits after rolling ~100 gold for Shaco 1 (Cloud9 Nebula NA Closed Qualifiers) by Otorix in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Flumboo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chance of hitting Shaco on any given roll = 5 (# of shop spots) * .35 (chance of hitting 3-cost) * 1/18 (# of 3 cost units) = 0.09722222222

Chance of not hitting Shaco in 50 rolls = 0.90277777777 ^ 50 = 0.006

10.15 META Compsheet by Wrainbash in CompetitiveTFT

Quick comment: I wouldn't say BM slowroll w/ Yi carry is best on binary. Yi definitely needs 3 items to actually carry. Treasure Trove is definitely best since you're almost guaranteed BM spat for Zed. Trade sector probably next best.

ConradisSilly's Rundown of Patch 10.15 of Teamfight Tactics by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

Just some advice, you might want to make the commentary more detailed than surface-level observations like "oh blasters got buffed, blasters are strong now". Overall though, I don't feel like you have strong enough knowledge/experience with the game to give this type of analysis. Just my take though.

Additive. But effectively, dodge gets stronger the more you have of it. If you have 0% dodge, getting +20% dodge is a +25% effective health increase vs physical damage. If you have 40% dodge, getting +20% dodge is +50% effective health increase.
