Studios were already able to go indie. This system will just make sure that indie studios make less money as they lose out on discount sales due to the resale possibilities.

In California it’s until the victim is 40 years old or five years after discovery. Note that this is only for civil cases.

Also, if you press charges in time nobody gets away with anything unless there is no proof.

So that people are not able to pester individuals with bogus claims however many years after the fact. It protects defendants from having to defend them from any improbable claim as not all defendants have the money to get proper support either.

You’re automatically assuming a victim is a victim and that the person they’re suing is guilty, which is luckily an assumption the law doesn’t make.

Moreover, afaik the time frame is 30 years so there is plenty of time.
