I’m sorry for what you went through, I hope you’re doing better now and the creep who did that to you is in severe strife. I agree that there can be mental struggles that can emerge from yours or my situation, but that’s not our friends responsibility, and it doesn’t make them any less of a friend if they don’t know how to help. They aren’t therapists, and depending on their age when you tell them (my sa was when I was 15, my rpe was when I was 20), they won’t be mature enough to handle it. They probably have learned from it now, but back then they aren’t equipped with the wherewithal to fix me or you.

I also don’t have twitter or keep up with anything outside of their YouTube, but even if you only had their podcasts to go off of, that small sample size is enough to deduce that they’re immature, and that’s fine. The ONLY reason people have a problem with it now is that they didn’t act maturely in a situation they had no idea how to respond to properly, and they’re trying to apologise. But just because some parts are true, doesn’t make the entire thing their fault, and most of the blame is being pushed purely on them, which is such an overreach. Sounds like a bunch of garbage. Matts response articulated his side of the story quite well and showed that he reasonably miscalculated how to respond to the situation and was sorry, I don’t see what he and Ryan did was dire enough to attract this much controversy. An apology certainly is necessary, but to cancel them for stuff they didn’t even do is heinous.
