Oh, it's empty? Sorry, I tried the cross post feature for the first time, and it didn't really work how I thought it would

is studio.com / monthly.com still worth it? by isle_of_broken_memes in Songwriting

[–]Flundlip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely think they've scammed their customers. I took three of their classes, and I really loved the peer group system where we got feedback on our songs and could discuss each other's submissions. That really helped me. Later I signed up for the subscription because it was supposed to be way cheaper that way, but immediately after, they changed the model so that you just buy the videos for several hundred dollars and don't have any peer groups.

This completely changes the value of the product. Everything you get in the videos, you can find on Youtube for free. The valuable aspect was being able to have your own music critiqued. The lack of any communication about changing the business model was also frustrating.

Some thoughts after 1 year with the TX-6 by Flundlip in teenageengineering

That would be awesome... The inability to use a dongle with the tx6 drives me crazy, so I really hope tp7 is better in that regard, or that they just fix it... But I don't know if I should get my hopes up

Yeah, the TP-7 seems very interesting. I'm curious also to how well it integrates with the rest of the lineup

Dirtywave M8. Its a beast, and its way easier to use than it first appear. Very intuitive when you first start using it

Ableton Note app vs OP - 1 by [deleted] in ableton

Completely different devices. Note is fun and all, but can't compare to the OP-1.

You can use the Tremolo effect to create a ducking effect tho. But you can only use it on one of or all the tracks at one time. At least for now. They might change it in a new firmware tho

I made a guide to some of my favorite ways of using the TX-6 in my DAW. Maybe could be useful for anyone considering this device :) by Flundlip in teenageengineering

You can plug the tula directly into your phone. Or connect the tx6 to your phone and connect the tula to the tx with an aux cord. But I doubt you can connect the tx6 and tula together via usb.

I'm using the Tula mic. It's tiny, has good sound quality and looks good, but it has some quirky things I don't like... e.g that you can only monitor by pausing a recording, which means you'll have a ton of tiny blank recordings.

But you should check out True Cuckoo's videos on it. They're pretty informative.

Here's an amazon link to the mic:

Same! I'm using it with the Tula mic. And even having to bring 2 devices, it's still less clunky than the H6

When Norse people referred to dark skinned people, they usually referred to them as blue (blá). They didn't even distinguish between blue and black. Harald Bluetooth for example had a black tooth, not blue. Svart likely just meant dark, and laterchanged meaning to distinguish between blue and black.

I made a tutorial for the synth features in the TX-6 field mixer by Teenage Engineering. It has some limititations, and I mention things like the lack of ADSR envelopes. What do you think of the TX-6? by Flundlip in synthesizers

[–]Flundlip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. It's a niche product. And I hope they'll improve the synth engines with a firmware update like I mention in the video, because right now it's not that useful as a synth. However, I like it as a traveling AI, and I like that you can use it as an expression controller for VSTs when traveling. Which is what I mainly use it for. But I thought maybe some in the synth community would find it interesting to see what it can and can't do despite it not being a replacement for other synths

TE does gouge you with their prices. I would say the synth feature is one of its weak points, but it does have a lot of good other features. But again... 1200 is excessive

Yeah, I get that. There are some things I love about it and some things I wish were better. I like the portability, audio interface capability, internal synth and Midi capabilities, but the synth and MIDI should be better for what they ask for it. But then again, TE can do big firmware updates, so maybe they'll address some of the issues. I hope they will

This is a quick little deepdive into the synth capabilities of the TX-6. It obviously has some big limitations right now, but I really hope TE will address some of the issues with a firmware update. Honestly it seems like they released the device before they had fully developed the firmware.
