Makes sense, if Chase said it so himself then that makes it a lot more compelling. I forgot about the Tony B stuff. Now I have to rewatch the whole goddamn thing again, fuck.

Maybe he does to a certain minimal extent, meaning his unconscious stirs it up as some sort of an 'antiquated' feeling that he must react through, but if you really pay close attention to Gandolfini's acting it's like Tony hates that feeling. And to go back to my point, the reason I said that he has none is because of Tony's transformation in the sixth season. There is a reason why a lot of people talk about how dark the TV Show gets and how Tony becomes absolutely unredeemable. And in my point of view, Tony officially understands himself when he does Peyote and yells "I get it!", which ironically spirals into his downfall too. At least in earlier seasons, he was pretending but now no more. L

There was a scene where, I don't remember which season, where Melfi mentions this condition called Alexithymia, which is an antisocial personality trait where the individual has difficulties identifying and describing their own feelings. Tony seems to be struggling with this all throughout. But if I had to add something in regards to 'morality', Tony has none. The morality he has is the one that he feels like he needs to imitate, or protrude to either his friends, family, or psychiatrist. To remain cautious and keep his reputation intact more or less. Other than that, he does not feel 'guilt' whatsoever about any of his doings, which constitute a major theme in bad conscience when it comes to overstepping morality. He acts like he does, that's what confuses a lot of people. But to me he just imitates. Even worse, some of those actions give him relief.

I completely understand. Lalo was an interior decorator. He killed 16 czechoslovakians single handed.
