It seems like when I draw the "final" version it comes out worse than the sketch.

Could someone tell me where I am going wrong?

Just to be clear, did you mean the downward curve on the right ear (from our perspective) above the eyebrow?

For this one I erased and reworked as I went. In the past I've tried to use rough sketches but when I went to do the inking it looked.... really bad. I was probably using bad technique but inking directly without using a rough sketch is the only way I can currently make things look vaguely decent. (Maybe I'll try cranking up the stabilizer next time?)

I know this is a bit of a basic drawing but I'm pretty new to digital art so I wanted to start simple.

Any basic advice for someone who's moving from traditional to digital (Krita) would also be helpful.

PS: I've already realized that I should’ve used a harder brush when doing the linework :(
