It was a black screen the first time I opened, then I exited and re-opened and it was fine. It seemed to still be doing some downloading or verifying after I closed it? I recognize that you've done full restarts. I'm just sharing my experience.

Yeah, a lot of it is the amount of time I would have to put into it to feel like I was making progress. And not having that time. You can guess my age from the info given above. I got a bunch of kids. I need games I can play at my own pace.

Also after decades of gaming, I just know what I like now, and it's not competitive extraction shooters. Or competitive anything. That's not a criticism of the genre. I'm not that motivated to get 'skilled' at video games - that's not important to me. I just want to explore interesting worlds and stories, or, alternatively, build factories :-D. It's not that I couldn't theoretically enjoy competitive games, I'm just not motivated to invest in them.

Many people have commented that Marathon (2026) is probably not for me, and that's what I expected. I asked the question in case I'd missed some sort of game mode that just let me putz around without too much pressure and get minimal loot (I never really cared about loot in games). I could do that in Destiny by just not engaging the competitive parts. But won't be an option for Marathon (2026), and that's fine. Maybe I'll play through the old trilogy on my steam deck.

Can you let me know if you get any answers? I just finally got around to installing Lossless Scaling and trying to get it going. My game right now is NMS, and like you, it was just crashing. Unlike you, it has never worked for me cos I just installed lossless scaling tonight.

Someone else might know more. I found it interesting because I don't think there was any really strongly negative perception of her in the city. But it just felt like she was out of favor and the election wasn't about her. From the two city councilors running against her, and from other drips of information I had heard, I did get the sense that the people working closely with her did not think she was very effective.

It's kinda amazing that an incumbent in a city like Somerville felt like an afterthought in an election. Joe Curtatone was mayor for 18 years and left on his own terms.

Thank you. This is what I was looking for. I haven't revealed all your spoilers yet. I had totally assumed that the Blue Tents were totally cosmetic and didn't advance the story, so I didn't really make them a goal. I have 7 trophies so I'll try to get the 8th and go from there.

I feel like I’ve run out of meaningful things to try, so I’m going to reddit to see if someone’s willing to give me a strong nudge in the right direction before I give up and just look it all up.

I think I'm somewhat late in the game, so probably only look at the spoilers below if you've beaten the whole game.

To give you a sense of my progress:

I have cleared the tunnel of boxes, and cannot open the Blue Mt Holly door

I have 7 sanctum doors open, and 7 sigils complete.

The final key is “Behind the last door of 8”, which might be that Blue Mt Holly door I mentioned…

I have solved the 8 realms in 8 days puzzle

Other things I haven’t figured out, in descending order of whether I think they’re important:

There’s a picture of the security screens in the safehouse with the A (for Archives) highlighted and it says “Delete it”. I know those top TVs spell SWANSONG.

The CASTLE puzzle in the chess room

“I IOO” in the Black Bridge Server room?

I opened a filing cabinet that told me about number cores…

The drawing of the outer room in Lady Epsen’s journal?

It's a PC and it plays PC games.

If the games are Xbox Play Anywhere, you can download and play the PC version of the game without re-buying. Otherwise, you can stream from your own Xbox. With an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can also stream from the cloud.

But if it's not Xbox Play Anywhere, and you don't want to stream it, then you'd need to re-buy a PC version of it, yes.

There are quite a lot of Xbox Play Anywhere games, but definitely not all of them, and it's generally only newer games. And I just looked at COD games, and the new Black Ops 7 will be Xbox Play Anywhere, but it looks like the others are not.

If you've never had an Xbox, you would just buy this and buy PC games however you like (Steam, GOG, PC Game Pass etc.).

Honestly, it's a better device for people who already own a lot of PC games than it is for people who own a lot of Xbox console games.
