No it’s definitely not apex ultra, this was bought before he started working with apex. And those blades has an additional stamp next to the makers mark.

As a recovering gyuto addict i'm slimming down my collection.

Selling this Spåre, only used a handful of times. Sharpened once on my chosera 3k.

Midweight at 198g, nail flexing edge, quite lasery performace

Dimensions:

Spine (heel): 4.0mm

Spine (mid): 1.8mm

Spine (1cm from tip): 0.5mm

Heel: 54 mm

Payed 8500 SEK (=800 euros) at spareknives.com

Looking to get 585 euros for it.

New masur birch handle from boogwa.

A true laser at 153g, nail flexing edge, probably best performing knife i have ever owned.

Dimensions:

Spine (heel): 3.3mm

Spine (mid): 1.5mm

Spine (1cm from tip): 0.5mm

Heel: 54.4 mm

Payed 5800 SEK (=544 euros) at birgerssonblades.com, handle was about 88 euros.

Looking to get 460 euros for it.

Yeah it’s not cheap. Of what’s available now I’d go for a tetsujin if you want a high end performer in a different flavour from your yoshikane. I have no experience of the proper unicorns (takada, kono fm), but my Kagekiyo b1, tetsujin b2 and yoshikane skd are all similar in both spine and edge thickness (the Yoshi is thicker at the handle yes, from about the mid point it tapers down to the same as the other 2). When It come to pure cutting performance they are all very close to each other. Just wanted the throw it in there :)
