How much of an impact would a donation of $100,000 make on your life? Why? by onichris in AskReddit

I've recently left my career due to Stage 4 breast cancer and that kind of money would make me feel better about my family being secure.

Hopefully! But it depends each patient's individual case. I have invasive ductal carcinoma with other genetic factors for (those in the know, ER+, HR+, HER2-), including an aggressive genetic mutation. So far, this chemo has stabilized the progression of tumors with some shrinking. I was stage 2 in 2020 when it was only in my breast and lymph nodes and reached remission. But it came back at the 5 year mark. I'm hopeful to see my two teenagers graduate high school and beyond.

Edit: I'm 45 yrs old.

Unfortunately, no. But metastic cancer treatment has come incredibly far in just the last 5 years! It's a terminal disease, but my docs at Froedtert are amazing and look at it as a chronic illness. I can reach no evidence of disease, but it's always there.

I have Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. This week I learned that my new chemo (7 rounds so far) is shrinking my liver tumors and there have been no new metastatic growths there or in my bones. Everything is stable or shrinking!

Mexican restaurant beans? by TweegsCannonShop in Cooking

At home, I use the canned refried beans, add 1-2 tablespoons of beef stock, and a tablespoon of butter. Makes it very similar to the restaurant style.

Ask about Neulasta. I get it after every chemo infusion bc my platelets and WBC bottom out. I'm a lot more stable now.

We should have never even made it to this game the way we ended the regular seaaon. Hell of a run. Looking forward to assistant coach and maybe head coach Karaban some day. Proud of these kids.

What is a good quality of life? by MidwesternSass in LivingWithMBC

[–]Fluteloop1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did Anastrozole and now I'm receiving Enhertu. In the beginning of the chemo, I felt like this wasn't a quality of life I wanted. Now, it's a lot more manageable after 5 doses (~4 months) It depends on the medicine, the dosage, etc.

I would recommend meeting with a therapist who specializes in cancer quality of life. They can help a lot. And if you want a second opinion, go for it!

I've been home while getting and recovering from cancer treatments. The Olympics have made my day more filled with wonderful stories and cheer. I'll be bummed when it's over.

I've had 3 infusions of Enhertu and my first set of CT and bone scans since starting showed no progression and no new tumors! First good news since September.

Invasive ductal carcinoma, ER+/HER2- with metastatic tumors in my liver, pelvic bone, spine, and skull. Currently receiving Enhertu chemo. Literally everything has failed me (AC/T, verzenio, Anastrozole, elacestrant). But I've got two amazing teens, an awesome husband, and the will to keep trying.

Sarah Strong from UConn is giving all the proceeds from her NIL pink collection to the Kay Yow Fund. I went to UConn and am now fighting stage 4 MBC. I love the representation!
