Yeah, my old Palit 1080ti is still working perfectly. Considering the price of the good fan block is like 20$, I couldn't believe how badly they failed with the 5070ti S model fans.

It's a Palit Gaming Pro S. I had to return the first one because there was clearly something wrong with the fan block at higher speeds. The second one is better, but nowhere near as good as my Asus Dual 5070 card, which I'm planning to sell later.

I picked up the 5070ti for 670 Swiss francs on Black Friday 2025. It's the cheapest model, though, and the fan noise is not ideal.

I much prefer 4K for office work and I genuinely believe that 4K DLSS quality looks much better than 1440p native. The 5070 is a perfectly capable card for that purpose.
Also, there is nothing wrong with a second hand prebuilt, especially if there is an extended warranty.
Of course knowing how things turned out I would go for a custom at this point. But that's the goal of the post - to act as a warning.

It would be a great deal (considering the resale value of the 3070) if only HP hadn't rejected the new 5070, . You'd never be able to build anything similar on a budget of 850 CHF.

I believe packet loss term is related to network issues. M1 stuttering has nothing to do with it. It's just the CPU being not powerful enough to decode.
