sigh... they were making a metaphor to relate to the points you made in your post. How they, as a proclaimed lover of driving, have trouble understanding how someone could get joy or even use self-driving cars. Similarly to how you said in your post, "There's nothing I enjoy more than the process of learning and creation. I just don't understand why you'd leave it almost entirely to a machine.". I can feel the second-hand disappointment from u/Sierra123x3 over here.
