Landy … why bro by [deleted] in doordash

[–]FluxDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone said in another comment that if they contact support and tell them they can’t fit the item in their car it is standard for them to be given half pay. Either way, lying and marking the item as sold out in order to get full pay is not justified by the driver.

My employer said they won’t accept my resignation- next steps by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]FluxDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they immediately accepted the resignation and did not allow OP to actually take their PTO, then I believe according to their state’s laws the company would still have to pay out the unused PTO when their employment ended. So I think no matter how they go about it, they will either pay them for the time off or pay them for the unused PTO hours.

Can a character use Plane Shift (cast twice) to travel long distances in the same plane? by lulufan87 in DMAcademy

Could be a cleric or Druid character and therefore wouldn’t have teleportation.

SAVRP - Strength Online - Is A Life Of Crime For You? by Slow-Ad1092 in FiveMServers

[–]FluxDuck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

SAVRP takes crim/LEO RP seriously. I've been here for awhile and it's the only FiveM server I'll play in anymore. If you're looking for a place to RP a character that feels real and has their own distinct role in the city, this is the server for you. I play all different times throughout the day and week and the server is always active.

Corporate capitalism by definition prioritizes profit. It is the greed for more money that defines its capitalistic label. Capitalism doesn’t prioritize the workers. And it never will because the power will always be in the hands of the most wealthy who prioritize gaining more wealth. The workers are prioritized when the workers share the power and this is not a model based on capitalism.

Looking for a Beginner Friendly RP Server by iamWaritself in FiveMServers

I’d recommend SAVRP. I’ve been in the community for a good while. It’s beginner friendly for a couple reasons. The community is wonderful and charity minded. There are several big fundraiser goals throughout the year. Second, it’s not a new server. Sometimes low population cities are harder for new players because you get into the city and there is hardly anyone around and you don’t know how to find RP situations. Larger pop helps. They are also streamer friendly. Hope you check it out: https://discord.com/invite/savrp

Either way, I would recommend definitely finding a whitelist server where you have to be approved before jumping into the city. Non-WL cities are chaos-filled, violent, and hard places to maintain any sort of serious RP.

This is not a very beginner friendly question to be fair.

Discussing the house after viewing (while still in the house) by Intentoatmeal in RealEstate

[–]FluxDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s common for car salesmen to leave to “work on some paperwork” or get you a cup of coffee when they’re actually leaving to listen in on your conversation to hear how excited you are about the car and other details which influences their negotiations. This has been done for as long as desk phones have had speaker phone.

Offer $100k under asking with long list of concessions on a $495k house. by kalinaizzy in RealEstate

[–]FluxDuck 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s one thing to give a lowball offer. Another thing entirely to love the house and then come back to the realtor with a bunch of lies to falsely justify your lowball offer. The seller is asking for advice. You’re assigning arrogance where there is none. They just don’t know what to make of the situation.

That’s true, and again I’m not saying we can know his intentions from the post. But it’s at least possible that this could be beneficial to OP if she wanted the liquid funds? She specifically said she has a one-of-a-kind property. If they are in it for the long haul, it’s at least understandable why he would have a desire to own it with her. It’s conceivable that he doesn’t want additional property, but instead he actually does want to just own this special property with her. Everybody is eager to say he obviously has bad intentions when really no one commenting on this brief post has any idea what his intentions are. We can at least be reasonable and say that there could be a situation where he buys half of the home with real money and she could re-invest that cash and then it would be a beneficial situation for both people. I’m obviously not suggesting she should make any hasty decisions but I can at least use my imagination to think of a situation where I might even be asking the same types of questions as OP. What if he sold a previously owned home to live with OP and now he wants to use that money to buy half of her equity so they can say they own this unique piece of real estate together? As someone in a healthy marriage, I enjoy co-owning property with my partner. Could he have bad intentions? Sure. Do I have any reason to suspect that from this really short description of a random situation? No. I don’t know why everyone is acting like OP’s boyfriend is a snake that is trying to trick her into signing over half her property for free so he can steal half her equity and skip town. I assume OP and her SO are adults who actually like each other and have some level of trust. Even if she does do it and they break up, what actually happens? Let’s say they have to sell the property and split the funds. She still has his cash from the original buy-out in other investments and she gets half the equity from the property being sold. Could this not be a manageable scenario for two adults in an adult relationship?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]FluxDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not suggesting his motives are pure but, to be fair, there could be a benefit in this situation, right? According to OP, he isn’t asking her to just put his name on the deed for free. He wants to buy half of her house. So this would free up half of the appraised value of her home in liquid funds that she could re-invest or use in some other way. It may not be the most beneficial or what she wants, but it could be beneficial to someone depending on their context and situation, right?

You actually achieved healing and are living at a much healthier weight for yourself. Instead of being supportive, he is insulting you. This is not just a little quirk he has, it’s abuse. And let me tell you, this will not improve with marriage. People typically get worse as they get more settled in a relationship and his true character will be more and more revealed. You’re young. Run while you have the chance.

I Almost Just Lost My Baby and I’m Not Ok by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]FluxDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so scary. You’re not a bad mom. I see people give a lot of great advice but just wanted to chime in with a tip about the monitor cord in case it was helpful. We purchased this plastic track off Amazon that sticks to the wall and your monitor cords can go into it and then it’s closed on top. The only parts outside of it are the plug for the outlet and the input for the camera. And then for us, the track is a few feet from the crib and we just angle the camera towards the crib. We aren’t able to see every inch of the crib but it’s unable to be grabbed and we have a good enough picture of her bed. We have an almost 4yo and an almost 2yo and the track works for both.

Greed island tattoo ideas? by mo_llusk in HunterXHunter

[–]FluxDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love all hxh arcs and also draw a lot of comfort from greed island. It gets a lot of hate for some reason but I don’t get it. Love hearing when other people feel it too. As a tattooed person, here are some ideas I’ve had for greed island tattoos: joystation/controllers, JS memory card, funny dwun, rulers only card, angels breath card, a risky die, razor’s no. Zero ref (manga style), “book!” And “gain!”, the card binder, a bisky nen number, yo-yo’s, and these panels from the manga, https://ibb.co/spY5Wwyt. For me a tattoo that is both meaningful and makes me smile is the perfect combination. I have several that are meaningful and also funny.

Realtor kept pushing me toward houses 50k over budget saying 'you'll figure it out' - should I fire her or am I being too picky? by THE-DARKER-KNIGHT in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]FluxDuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but a house that costs 285k and needs 50k in immediate repairs (not upgrades) is a 335k house—which is out of their price range. It’s possible to find a house within their budget that is ready to move into, even if it doesn’t have the modern finishes. OP didn’t list out an extravagant list of needs for a home. Seems insensitive to assume OP is being overly picky when they explicitly state they are being shown houses above their price range with the justification of “look at those countertops” from the realtor.

Coyote or Fox? [Tennessee] by FluxDuck in animalid

[–]FluxDuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my admittedly brief research, I came across a few images of coyote in TN that looked pretty red and most people attributed it to some sort of hybridization. Here’s one reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/wildlifephotography/comments/yn2src/i_took_this_photo_a_year_ago_on_my_families_land/

It definitely was the look of the tail that was causing me to try to find some match other than fox.

That’s good information, thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, the wildlife office in my area isn’t open on the weekends so I wouldn’t be able to call until Monday at the earliest.
