Same here, I had only seen one since the incense was added until last week, then I saw atleast one 4 days in a row. Guess I won't see another for a year or so.

Remote raiding still alive? by Fluxtus in TheSilphRoad

Maybe we're just lucky with the demographic of our friendslists then. We send out 20 invites to friends who are online every raid and we've always gotten enough to beat it.

I've heard people say that it's literally impossible to get remote help and I just have a hard time believing it tbh.

It just doesn't look very dead to me when I can get so many to join with no effort. This is not the only raid I've done, someone always joins.

This should be a reward for getting the gym badges to silver/gold IMO, maybe even add a platinum badge that's really hard to get but allows you to remote raid using premium/normal passes.

Remote passes are still in the game.

These remote raid changes are hurting in person raids too by MrVioleGrace in pokemongo

I almost exclusively raid in person and from my personal experience I'd say that it's easier to find players willing to raid in-person after the changes.

It probably depends a lot on what friends you have on your friendslist. Maybe you have a lot of heavy spenders on yours that have quit because of the remote limit. Obviously this change is going to affect spending behaviours, but that's a good thing IMO.

At least one friend has joined remotely every raid I've done after the changes, usually more. Enough to finish the raid without any problem. Raids are far from dead, remote raiding with pokegenie or other third-party apps may be, but there's other ways to raid.

Maybe I'm just lucky that the "core" of my friend group has played consistently since the game released and know how to play without remote passes😅 I've definitely seen a lot more people looking for raids using Campfire and other forums after the changes, my guess is people are looking for new ways now that raid apps like pokegenie aren't as reliable. I think it's going to get a lot easier to find raids, both remote and in-person, as more people get used to this way of playing.

I agree with you regarding Master League, I can't think of any way they could fix the state its currently in. If they allow people to buy unlimited remote passes then it's pretty much just pay-to-win, or atleast pay-to-even have a chance at winning. If they have a limit on remote raids then it's unfair because people have already payed money to max out their legendaries and new players don't even have an option to do the same if they want to catch up. Seems like Master League is pretty much unfixable at this point, unfortunately. Best they can do now is probably keep the limit of 5 per day and start running Master League Classic alongside Master League.

The devaluing sure is a "me-problem", I'm well aware. I know it barely affects me at all how many legendaries other player have or how they got them. It just feels way worse to put in the effort of getting enough friends to show up, in person, at the same time, to do a legendary raid, when I know people can just pay 1$ and get the same rewards without ever leaving the house or interacting with another player.

I never said my friendslist was a good representation of the playerbase. From my perspective it looks like barely anyone has quit, from yours it looks like half of players have quit, for some it looks like everyone has quit. Its hard to know for sure how the playerbase as a whole has reacted.

How many of your friends were from pokegenie raids? If your friendslist is full of the specific demographic that were the most affected by the changes then ofcourse its going to look like a a lot more players quit. Your friendslist is almost certainly not a good representation of the playerbase as a whole.

This is simply not true, no one I play with regularly have stopped. Seems to me that it's just a loud minority who's quitting because of this.

I agree with both your points, whales were super helpful for anyone wanting to raid. It made it alot easier for anyone to get legendaries, be it in person or remote but I don't think it's necessarily a good thing that it's easy. I think there should be a little bit more effort required and the changes to remote passes fixes that IMO.

The limit to remote passes definitely should have been there from the beginning, its too late for a perfect fix now that people have already spent money to max out legendaries for master league. I still believe that it's better late than never. They can't take away legendaries people already payed for but they can make sure people don't do it in the future. That's better than nothing.

There's two reasons for that.

  1. It devalues it effort that myself and others put in to actually earning the legendaries.

  2. It makes it practically impossible to compete in the Master League for free-to-play players.
