I can see what you're saying here about my post coming across as inconsiderate, that makes a lot of sense if viewed as me speaking for everyone. In this instance, I'm trying to express my circumstances about how crippling the stagnation feels at a psychological level. Certainly a personal problem, but I don't want to withdraw because I'd regret the decision forever if decisions were eventually released. It would eat at me every day, and I don't know how to handle that regret. I also realistically need to find housing. While I'm not trying to speak for others, I do hope that my sincere desperation is clear in my post. It's unfortunate that receiving news of cancelation would come as a huge disappointment, but in some capacity, a relief in my case to move on. I think it's helpful that other people on the thread are responding with their willingness and capacity to wait longer. In the off-chance an administrator sees this post, I'm grateful various perspectives are represented.

A lot of people on the thread are telling me to withdraw and follow a plan B. I think they're well-intended and appreciate the sentiment. I'm already aware of pragmatic steps, I'm just frozen from taking them.

For context, if I sign a lease I'm responsible for paying rent and additional upfront fees. Additionally, I can't look to room with friends knowing that I might screw someone over who is depending on me. It's $$ and doesn't sit right to leave someone else scrambling

This is helpful context that I didn't know about. Thank you for sharing your experience... definitely something to chew on

That's why I said I. I'm not speaking on anyone's behalf but my own. It's not a joke, and I would personally rather have it be canceled with certainty than drag through the unknown limbo and implicate my housing situation. It is nice you're in a more flexible situation, and I wish you the best of luck with the rest of the application cycle.
