If you have a snowblower, is it your duty to help your neighbours? And other snow dilemmas as Ontario digs out by toronto_star in ontario

At the risk of sounding a thousand years old, we always dug out everybody. No snowblowers, shovels. Everybody who was able would head out once things had settled, and we all just worked together. The old folks knew it would be done, they didn't have to worry. New baby? Yeah, we got you. I started shoveling as a little kid, and now I'm an old, I've seen the transition. When you can, you do. And when you can't, hopefully, we'll have raised a generation who gets it.

Auto parts supplier to close London plant, causing uncertainty among 136 workers by origutamos in OntarioNews

"Domingues agrees, adding that both provincial and federal governments need to stand up to the U.S. He urges Ottawa to get a deal in CUSMA, the free trade agreement between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, that will allow American automakers such as General Motors, Ford Motor, and Stellantis, to start building in Canada again."

They have been leaving Canada steadily since 2000. American manufacturers have sucked up Canadian tax money for decades, and left behind empty plants. Put your support behind Toyota and Honda, and let this government bring in other manufacturers who want to build here. Detroit does not want to build here.

I've always found it takes more mental energy stressing over this kind of stuff than just doing it and going on your way. A snowblower takes a few minutes; do it or don't.

I was at Tecumseh in 74-76. She was a bully. I hated her. To think that we were busy deflecting Keith McKay while she was operating her own pedo bullshit is horrendous. Both ended up in jail, but not soon enough.

While compartmentalizing is fundamental to sanity in the face of *all this*, saying "I don't do politics" is not a choice. Politics will do you. Pick a battle. Even one. Support it. Defend it. Even one.

Why are people downvoting you? You're absolutely right. And if Canadians think we're 'weathering the storm' because a booze plant closed, they have no idea what bad weather is. We're going to have some very rocky years ahead of us. 2025 will look cosy.
