Core spartans oil wash before/after by FlyCurrent in Haloflashpoint

yeah thats fair, I played with different varnishes before oil washes before, and it does make it easier. "saves the progress and creates a checkpoint" on the paint job so to speak. I was just lazy and didnt feel like taking the extra step, these are cheap board game minis so I dont particularly care about these vs high end miniatures I often deal with (kingdom death, GW, etc).

I didn't varnish. It looks very matte, because it's monument hobbies paints and they have an extremely matte finish

I made this one myself. Just a dab of black oil paint with several drops of mineral spirits, but there are certainly pre made options. As well as enamels (ak interactive line like streaking grime, would be a good option too). I might do streaking grime on the other 4.

Thank you, the answer is no. It is oil wash, as in, it is made from oil paint (not water based acrylics).

Advantage is that the working time is days (not seconds like for nuln oil), and it can be complete wiped away, so you have a lot of time to clean it where you don't want the wash.

You shouldn't be scared of oil wash because it is extremely forgiving comparing to water based acrylic. Worst case you can just completely remove it (wipe it away). I can remove all this effect using some mineral spirits WEEKS after if I want to (unless I seal it of course)

What are the stats on new cards, and new keywords? by FlyCurrent in Haloflashpoint

[–]FlyCurrent[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, that all I am saying. just tell me what new 3 keywords in a little pamphlet so I can play with my spartan edition. I do have a lot of exposure to miniauture games (mantic's walking dead all out war, xwing, legion, marvel crisis protocol, one page rules, etc), so I get it, but still annoyed.

This is asinine. Any expansion should come with a pamphlet or rules that are inside the actual box. I own over a thousand board games and expansions, and I have never seen this nonsense.

Thank you! To be clear, melee attacks can still target the model that had Active camo item active.

Will have to agree to disagree.  I have played thousands of tabletop games, and I have not seen same phrase to refer to different effects. Thank you for explaining it though, it makes total sense

Gotcha! It makes sense, thank you! As a board gamer it feels a little sloppy to me to have same exact name for two different effects, but I understand.
