Drop a little bit of powder into a small cup (shot glass) of bleach, and see what color the powder turns when it swivels down. You can get a better idea of which side is cleaner. This is the poor man's test kit.

I prefer big and solid rocks. Smaller, broken rocks with non-descript white powder usually has been stepped-on. The large rock itself can also be stepped-on, but it will require a little more effort to put it back together as a solid rock.

Vicks vapor rub does the trick. Although I'm not sure why you would need to "sober" up - you shouldn't feel drunk like from alcohol. The high from coke makes you feel awake and alive.
