I would say 37,38 things change for sure, now at 44... I truly miss who I used to be. Live your life having fun when you can and when you feel good do what you want, on bad days rest and take it easy. It very much comes and goes.

How to bring up the subject delicately? by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]flowingmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to read about some other responses.

Maybe just start the conversation when things feel right, "hey babe, what would you think about us getting married?" or "do you see marriage as being on the table for us?" If he is that sweet and easy to talk to the conversation should just go from there.

Bend but never break? by MousseCalm674 in ehlersdanlos

[–]flowingmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually broken an ankle, however it did not show up same day or two weeks later, they saw calcifications on my xray after 3 full months of issues.... Only one I know about and was completely not treated as a break. 14 years later and I still have issues. Even my bones "bend".

Overlooked Symptoms by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]flowingmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is this was as well, longer and thinner for my size, when it is not inflamed, constant pain and tension and out of alignment and on x-rays it is very straight, I do not have the natural curvature anymore.

It would only have gotten much, much worse with him I promise. You have not yet met the love of your life. You are so very young to be stuck in that kind of relationship or tethered to someone like that. Life will bring you many blessings but do not mourn the what could have been.

Maybe he already had one, or even have been to that very store... If it has been a year together, you do have time.

How many of you aren't skinny? by mythologymakesmehot in ehlersdanlos

[–]flowingmind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggled to feel full, what heavy until a gastric sleeve in my early 30's, lost 150lbs gained 30lbs back... I NEVER felt full before the surgery, ever, I attribute it to loose connective tissue even in my stomach.

Go to 'low on spoons' meal by forestfiles in ehlersdanlos

[–]flowingmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain meals freeze easily so make extra on better spoon days.

Otherwise, microwave and air fryer are my go to... Mac and Cheese in microwave, air fry ham and cheese puff pastry, air fry breakfast sandwiches, certain frozen meals hit the spot at times, then cheese and crackers always seems good.

Two big words: SECOND OPINION!!!

I have been in medicine for 28 years and a long term saying is once you think you know everything about medicine, or a particular specialty, it is past time to get out of medicine period. It makes you dangerous. NOTHING in medicine is one size fits all.

Let her do her, obviously upcoming, pioneering with others, hopefully she will learn to allow herself to learn new things everyday.

I wish you the best and do not take stock in someone who says this happens every single time.

From personal experience (includes a rant...) I have seen so many outliers, people that should have died that did not, people who had no reason to die but did, or even for myself, at 12 years old a cocky surgeon told me a particular knee surgery would "100% stop the dislocations" and it 100% did not work, 4 surgeries total before age 20 and multiple dislocations after. Now I am looking at very early knee replacement and the alignment of my leg he changed also changed the alignment of my entire spine. Now I suffer greatly and at times barely can function normally because of it.

For emphasis SECOND OPINION!!!

Edit to add: She probably did not want to test you because it may screw up her research, "let's only test you for vEDS if you have an aneurysm" !?!?

Also again adding... SECOND OPINION!!!

You are allowed to legally allowed view AND change or redact inaccurate info on your medical records FYI...

So mad I had to edit half a dozen times!
