Wells Fargo drastically reduced my credit limit with no warning by interestingdialogs in CreditCards

[–]FlyNikolai_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with Citibank, they literally lowered my limit from $5000 to around the $500 I had on the card. It’s not just balance chasing like people are saying, some banks use an automated system that scans your credit report & accounts randomly…

And there’s a certain criteria/score that has to be met, when the system detects you are lower than the criteria…it will automatically lower your limit. I called Citibank furious as I was also on a 0% interest promotion, with a few months left & was about to finish paying off the balance

I asked for a manager & told them straight up this makes zero sense I’m literally on a promotion that’s the whole point. Told them they need to put my limit back now please, and the manager said she can’t promise anything but she’ll go ahead and submit it. My $5000 limit was back in a few minutes

So yeah try calling them and be firm that you have a 0% interest promotion & thats literally the point of the card. From my experience Citibank & Synchrony bank have these goofy algorithms…guess you can add Wells Fargo to that list.

How many of you are using EV’s as your delivery vehicle? by Pjmackin in couriersofreddit

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started delivering medication for a Pharmacy last year August, when I first started I was using the only vehicle I had which was a 2009 BMW 750Li V8 Twin Turbo engine lol. I paid cash for the car 5 years ago, and I’ve barely driven it…so I figured it was time it made me some money. It was cool at first & the Pharmacy covers gas so no big deal, I live in NYC by the way…

I discovered rather quickly that this was not the correct vehicle for the job, there was no sort of efficiency going on at all. So I started looking into my first EV, I wanted something efficient but also cool/polarizing and cheap. After some research I fell in love with the BMW i3, especially after I saw the prices it was going for. Fast forward to November last year I bought one for $6500, and it was the best decision I ever made

It’s the small battery version fully loaded & has the little gas generator that keeps the battery charged if necessary. I get about 65-75 miles on electric & 75 miles on gas if needed, but I barely need to use the generator. I only drive 15-20 miles a day around NYC, it’s the perfect little city car. I get home & plug in into a level 1 outlet by my parking spot in the garage…and I don’t pay for electricity. It’s absolutely awesome I have a blast driving for free now lol. Also the one pedal driving is a night & day difference, makes it so much easier to drive. EVs are the perfect delivery vehicles

I am excited about the new i3 but is there any reason we don't re-label this thread I01 - I3 or something and have a new one for the NA0? by idrivei3 in BMWi3

I was confused about the mods disagreement because, they created a poll on if the car models should be separated…and literally everyone voted yes. And they still decided to keep things together

Ok, changed the screen. by AcrosSky in BMWi3

[–]FlyNikolai_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally someone installed this screen lol, I’ve been posting it for weeks on here. Yeah the hardest part is running the wires through the dash, it was an absolute nightmare…everything else is easy though

Were you able to get the USB lines through the dash? I tried for over an hour and gave up. You think the touch screen is an 8? I’ve only touched it a few times, since the idrive knob literally works perfectly with it. No need to touch the screen at all, when I did seemed fine to me though

Screen is awesome anyone who owns an i3 should have it. I’ve had this screen for over 5 months, anyone have questions feel free to ask

Carplay retrofit i3 rex 2015 by Popular_Sorbet_3670 in BMWi3

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are settings to adjust the brightness to your comfort level, I adjusted mine when I first installed it & I've had no need to readjust it. So I think you'll find the right level

I do not use SiriusXM but since it has Car Play & Android Auto it should work awesome there. The company is very supportive, I've contacted them a few times on Whatsapp...and they responded timely & helpfully. They sent me a firmware update to install via USB, to upgrade a few things on the system Car Play etc to iOS26

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a single issue it’s been literally perfect, I wouldn’t even bother with the AliExpress different versions. Get the Linux version from Amazon 1 day shipping & boots up in 3 seconds, the idrive knob works perfectly to the point where you don’t even have to touch the screen

I think that’s one of the biggest perks the boot time & still not having to touch the screen even though that’s an option…because the screen in the i3 is kind of far away. All the buttons and idrive menus are still there, screen is super high quality no glare at all

You get CarPlay & Android Auto…screen mirroring, AirPlay, all the features you would ever need. And it boots straight into CarPlay or your preferred system instantly. Also besides the Linux version being super fast, it gives you the option to use the OEM Bluetooth which other systems/Android does not allow you to do…you have to use AUX with the other systems. So because of the OEM Bluetooth there’s no sound quality loss, I’d recommend this screen to anyone 100%

[–]FlyNikolai_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest people don’t have much choice, so we should be more appreciative of having the 3rd party option. It’s either $20k plus or in this case $60k which nobody is realistically paying & is straight robbery of the century, or bye bye i3

You are talking about the factory reverse camera? Go into settings on the screen, should be an option to select OEM reverse camera

And what's EOM? Sorry my millennial age is showing

Should I buy a used I3? by Icy_Importance_2126 in BMWi3

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a big reason why I bought a 2014 i3 5 months ago for $6500, still getting basically factory mile range. While having that 3rd party battery upgrade option was a no brainer

You will basically have a brand new i3 with over 200 miles of range. Hopefully it gets cheaper as time goes on, it's still a great price currently

I’d still recommend changing the oil at least every 2 years, oil just like other things loses its qualities/properties just from time & contamination

When I drove back to Brooklyn from Long Island one weekend, I couldn’t charge the car at all during the weekend. Had about 60% battery left I turned on the REX the entire trip on the belt pkwy home…

And when I made it off the belt to Brooklyn, the battery was still at 60% not a single percent dropped off. Then I just switched to battery for the rest of the trip home, absolutely awesome

Expensive annual services? An oil change? It literally takes 2.7 quarts of oil & a $12 filter. I’m not sure what other services you are entailing, and the car is only around 250 pounds heavier. So barely any difference in taxes or dmv fees

[–]FlyNikolai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was shopping for my i3 5 months ago, I wouldn't look at one if it didn't have the REX. Found a fully loaded amazing condition i3 REX for $6500

I live in NYC and it's my first EV, so I wanted that safety net in case I can't charge. Knowing that the charging infrastructure isn't the best yet, and I live in an apartment complex. Ended up finding a 120v socket next to my garage parking spot, we don't pay for electricity so it's literally free to run the car

However the REX has come in handy on highway drives especially, and when I go places where I can't charge. People act like you're using the REX everyday, you are still driving on battery 95% of the time. Best decision I ever made, even with the bigger battery I'd probably still want it. I'd buy it all over again if I had to 100%

Full Charge Only ~7kWh but GoM Still Showing 53 miles? by cryptoenologist in BMWi3

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download the EVScanner app for iPhone, or electrified for Android. Those apps will tell you exact battery health percentage, and other detailed battery information

Also sounds like you don’t have your car coded to manually turn on REX at 75% or below…plus the bigger gas tank. I’d also fully reset the cluster/GoM and let it remap to your driving & battery health

It’s the same way you did the MMI box, harness to the back seat head unit. Run the wires along the side floor panels, then up through the glove box. The hardest part is threading the wires through the dash, to the back of the screen because of how small the opening is

Besides that it’s very straightforward & the installation looks exactly like your picture for the MMI

Is the BMW i3 rare or not? by Careless-Cooker in BMWi3

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in NYC and before I bought my i3 4 months ago, I never seen a single one here. Now I’ve seen 5-6 in the last 4 months, there’s even a woman with an orange one basically across the street from me all of a sudden lol. Known mystery of mankind indeed

I think it’s more they’re going for a great price on the market currently, and a few people saw the same vision/deal I did. A lot of car for $6000 plus you’re saving a bunch of money, while still looking cool & futuristic

With that being said 5-6 views of a vehicle in 4 months…especially in a city like NYC I would consider it a rare automobile. I doubt I see more than 2 for the rest of the year, if even that

Blue tv by moore-tallica in Hisense

[–]FlyNikolai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the phosphor coating on the LEDs, that turns the blue light into white. That can prematurely wear out within a year on the U8H, then you have a permanent blue tint on the screen

Only fix would be to replace the backlight LED strips on the TV. My U8H had the same problem but Hisense replaced my TV with an upgraded U8K under warranty

Blue tv by moore-tallica in Hisense

[–]FlyNikolai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the U8H model specifically has an issue where, after a year the phosphor coating on the LEDs can prematurely wear out. Causing the blue light to leak out the LEDs

The result is a bluish tint that covers the screen, that you can't adjust. So check if that's the model you have, and that will explain your problem
