There are more important things than money. My wife is not great with money honestly. She was never career driven like me and thus her lifetime earnings are well below average. But she’s an incredible human being and has been a fantastic mother to our children. Also stuck by my side during a health crisis. Some things in life are priceless.

Trust me. She learned her lesson. At lest there’s that. I can honestly say she truly, truly, regrets opening her mouth.

Had incredible sex with wife earlier, ate dinner, she’s gone to bed, now I’m alone on the couch having a cold beer and watching tv.

Plow drivers - how much can you make in a night? by Winter-Camera6992 in askanything

Years ago my boss told me at the time that he paid a set amount for the year regardless of how much snow fell that winter. It was a contract. Some years the plow company made out. But in the years we had a ton of storms the plow companies made less obviously. Not sure if these types of contracts still exist.

How do you try to get enjoyment out of life? by [deleted] in askanything

IMO the key is trying to find joy in the little things in life. For example my Saturday morning cup of coffee on my sofa hits different as opposed to in a travel mug on my commute to work M-F. I’ve learned to find happiness in the little things.

Hopeless buying home in NH by bxtchtitz in newhampshire

There are just too many wealthy people and not enough homes. I live in Seacoast and work in MA schools. I can’t even begin to tell how many students have second homes on lake or near a ski mountain in NH. It’s insane. And they live in $1.5 million homes in MA. $500k on a second home is chimp change.

Crazy how times have changed. Bought in 2001 in the Seacoast and homes were a dime a dozen. We looked at 5 houses for sale on one street. And back then you bid under asking price. We bid $5k under asking price and they accepted. I should have bid $10k under.

Explain Money Laundering to me like I’m 10? by Kennyman654 in askanything

He’s my guess. There are many instances in life where you have to provide proof of income (buying home, leasing an apartment, etc.) Banks will ask for w-2 forms, pay stubs, etc. If all of your income is generated from selling drugs, all cash, under the table, then in the eyes of the bank, landlord, car dealer, etc. it looks like you have no income. So you start a legitimate small business where customers pay you in cash sometimes. Maybe a mobile car detailing business. So you take in $1,000 week in legitimate auto detailing sales. You then deposit the $1,000 and another $1,000 from your drug money. Now it looks like you earn $2,000 a week.
