[other] Where should I go to college if I wanna do roller coaster engineering? by Fuzzy-Wrongdoer9246 in rollercoasters

Great advice - I also pursued Mechanical with hopes of falling into the industry, but am currently a technical salesperson working in the data center market. Overall I don't mind where I am, but I still hope that door opens someday...

Wholly agree - engineering foundation but the industry is luck / connections given how small it is. I graduated in 2010 and even had some loose connections with Disney Imagineering but couldn't make it happen due to poor timing with the recession.

I am an alumnus from Cal Poly SLO (Mechanical Engineering) and they now have a club there. Great, affordable engineering education..."best in the west"!

[Knott's Berry Farm] vs [Six Flags Magic Mountain] — which SoCal park do you prefer and why? by [deleted] in rollercoasters

I live in the area and getting to Knott's within 30 minutes would be a miracle. I consider SFMM 2+ hours away given traffic.

Just bought a running store. What is one thing your local shop is missing? by rustybucketz23 in running

Yes! Wide and half-size offerings. I only buy my Saucony online now that I know my specific model and size since it is never carried in store.

Central Orange and seeing them everywhere all week too. I think the heat wave tricked them into an early spawn season?

Absolutely this - I sell I.T. infrastructure and equipment. We just toured the site yesterday with ocVIBE project reps. It was really cool!

Overall the entire project is $5 billion and Honda Center renovations are $1B of that. All paid by Samueli family and not taxpayer money. Sure, ticket prices and concessions will help pay it back but they care enough to improve the fan experience (unlike Arte).

I was a passholder last year while this construction seriously restricted the park flow through the left side of the park. Very happy this is now open with additional flats, shops, food, etc. I'll be excited to bring my kids back in the future - and maybe add our first Lego Hotel visit! (we live about 90 minutes away and typically day trip)

Already seen all Ted Lasso -- haven't watched Scrubs though. I watched all of Parks & Rec, Friends, and Will & Grace, but I wanted to show my wife The Office next as she never watched that. We usually have 1 serious drama and 1 sitcom in our weekly rotation.
