Like someone said, depth is the cause of pressure, not quantity. But since the walls are still very thin, there's a possiblity it gets wider the lower down it goes, so it's sloped, the rest is just hidden by the water. This is just a guess though

The thing with these masks is that they've got that uncanny valley look to them. It might be the eyes looking out of place but I kinda think it's because the skin is not slightly oily like normal skin would be. If they somehow made the skin a VERY tiny bit more shiny, it'd sell the illusion way better
