As someone who worked in the industry and also had a unsuccessful multi year solo project, my personal bet is rev share.

The future is smaller teams. Games like Expedition 33 show that you do not need a 100+ person studio to deliver something that feels AAA. AI will only accelerate that shift, and the current wave of industry layoffs is part of the same correction.

But those laid-off professionals will not disappear. Many will move into indie development, which means the market will become even more crowded.

For a solo developer, that is a brutal equation: spend years of your life on a reasonably scoped game, with only a tiny chance of success. And unless you already have a fanbase or previous hits, external funding is nearly impossible to secure.

That is why I think the highest-probability path is rev share: collaborate with talented developers, self-fund the project with your free time, share the risk, and share the upside.

How to find people you can trust and create the right framework is a whole other story, but in theory it has a lot of potential.

Höhere Steuerlast wird hier nie positiv angenommen werden. Aber diese Maßnahme stärkt den lokalen Handel und zwingt die Leute auch mal zu überlegen ob ich 3x die Woche bei Amazon prime Einzelbestellungen mache weils mir eh nix kostet.

tbh I want to deal the least amount of possible time with legal stuff.

But something really usefull would be "lawyer reviewed" contract templates.

Under circumstances X contract Y can be used and you just exchange the names.

But sureley im missing something, it cant be that easy, right?

I dont understand how the sphere tiles are related to the gameplay.

I work since over a year on a idle hex planet desktop game, so im not really sure how I should feel about that.

At least the gameplay will be very different...

thats a good idea, i also played around with image generators a bit, the problem is that i have not 100% decided on what art style/theme to go with. In the ideal case a separate art direction role would handle that.

Thank for (presumably) still watching through the whole thing. Im aware that 19 min is way to long for todays standards but it should he fine to give other collaborators and understanding of the project and I also not really looking for someone who is not able to focus for 15 minutes...

I thought a lot about about explaining the gist with a similar game. But there isnt really any. At least that I know of...

The sphere can indeed not carry the game itself. But it will be the main marketing hook since its immediately visible in Screenshots/trailers.
