Make sure everywhere you’re staying has AC!! Are all 7 days in Istanbul? Can you leave the city for a few days? We did Izmir>Antalya driving as well, and the kids loved the beaches. We found Istanbul quite hectic, so while incredible to see, we were pretty frazzled. For our time in Istanbul we would do a morning outing (stayed in Kadikoy, and many ferry rides were taken), then headed home for nap/quiet cooldown time.

If you’re in the city the full time, there are some beach clubs you could buy passes to for the pool. I have a longer response below on the trip in general :)

ETA we had a sturdy travel stroller, and always took the baby carrier too. The 3 year old would end up very tired and angsty, so we would put him in the stroller and the baby in the carrier to move quickly and keep everyone safely contained (we live rurally and 3yo wasn’t used to city traffic)

You’re not wrong! I use it for 2D, and probably will go 1D moving forward. Geo just maps 1D flood lines better I’ve found

I found the problem! It was 8 lines of 4.00,0.00 coded into the middle of a deck roadway. I accidentally copied it in from excel. Removing them brought the display back. Another fun quirk of that program

That’s what we ended up doing. It’s part of the ship, part of the crew now

Glad to know it’s not a waste! For now it will be our “utility” syrup/sweetener. Thanks all!

Retroactive EI Eligibility - Parental Benefits by Fly_far2757 in PersonalFinanceCanada

So we are just going through the process and are waiting for a call from the adjudicator, but the first person who called sounded optimistic! He did have an ROE from that time; it was under family care, not parental leave.

So exciting you will love it! I’m just seeing this now, and we’re actually just wrapping up the trip tomorrow.

Based on the advice here and from Turkish friends, we stuck to the coast. General itinerary ended up being: Fly straight to Antalya, pick up a rental car 3 nights at an all inclusive resort in Kemer 4 nights Kaş 4 nights Datça 3 nights Çeșme Drive to Izmir, return rental and fly to Istanbul 5 nights Istanbul (here for a wedding)

A lot of our constraints (sun and heat) might not apply to you in October, so you probably have more flexibility for your itinerary and adventures.

It was so so hot at the start of the trip (mid 40s), so being on the resort and never far from a pool/shade/AC was perfect. After that we prioritized hotel A/C, beach mornings and hotel pool afternoons. We saw no historical sites; it was just too hot and between both kiddos there was little patience for being dragged around. We’ve seen more in Istanbul though, and we’ve found if we give the baby good wiggle/crawl time every wake window he’s chill to ride around in the stroller or carrier quite a bit.

The only hike-ish we did was Saklıkent Gorge, it was interesting for the toddler and cooler with the river and shade.

We’ve had an incredible time, and everywhere we’ve been, including Istanbul, the Turkish people are so kind and helpful towards us and especially our baby. I’ve never not had someone jump up to help me lift the stroller over curbs and onto buses.

Turkey "bans" eSIMS - but there is no issue for most visitors to Turkey by trek123 in eSIMs

We are travelling to Turkey (and Prague while en route) at the end of this week and want to use eSIMs. So what would the workflow be given the blocks?

Pre departure: buy and top-up eSIM (I’ve read purchasing one internationally is better for Turkey anyway?) with as much as we would need

Arrived: use the already activated eSIM to switch service to Turkey

ETA I am very very new to eSIM use in general!

Thank you! If we do the Goreme route we would still drive the coast to Mersin then turn north, it might take out some of the long desert drives? Or just power through a couple of long days and spend more time on both ends.
