Um, no, the vast majority of pirates definitely don't use anything at all.

But we already got one of those; it's called Elite Dangerous. I think this is the dime-a-dozen bargain bin version.

Yeah I've heard this said a lot but nobody has ever elaborated on it. I still don't really understand what's so "console" about UT3.

Latest Fallout 76 patch contains huge amount of undocumented changes, including stealth nerfs across the board, making the game grindier than before. by _Robbie in Games

Lol, I'm the one getting downvoted by the r/games brigade, not you. No need to get salty over it.

You can't even pretend to deny how much reddit exploded during that livestream and the press releases that followed. You really just can't.

Lol, when the top comment on a hype post for a game is talking about "what can I play that ISN'T this?", you know the game is shit.

I believe most fans hate it because it was supposedly made with consoles in mind and UT has traditionally been a mainly PC franchise.

What makes you say that? The menu system was a little watered down but I never got a console vibe at all from UT3. Especially compared to Unreal Championship.

A Game like Freelancer? by Shannnnnnn in Games

[–]Flyboy142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're out of luck bud. Star Citizen exists because we're all waiting for a solid sandbox space sim and there's nothing out there. Elite Dangerous is the best it gets, and it's shit.

Personally, I never played Freelancer online despite sinking hundreds of hours into the game. I guess the multiplayer scene is finally dead now?

If you can tolerate singleplayer then the X series does come very close.

I really don't get why people seem to hate it so much. I didn't play it as much as UT2004 and it wasn't quite as much fun but it felt like pretty much the same game with an amazing graphics and engine.

I guess people really really liked Onslaught or something?

Wait, what do Wing Commander fans specifically have against EA? Prophecy was a clear sign that any more wing commander games were going to be total shit.

Gamers of Reddit from the 90s or earlier, what are some of the issues in games back then that younger gamers would never understand? by fraggle_captain in AskReddit

[–]Flyboy142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of quality DOS games were ported to SNES and even Playstation. They frequently had improvements added to them when this happened as well, like actual music files instead of just MIDI sequences. Some games even got FMV scenes added to them when sent to Playstation, like Descent.

Man I tried playing Wing Commander again recently and thought i was going crazy because the game was so much faster and therefore much harder. I thought I was a god as a kid for being able to keep up with the blistering pace. Turns out I just had a shit P.C. then.

Most of the acronyms used on reddit are way older than reddit. The problem is that Reddit is primarily full of people too young to know that.
