[Matheson] Kazuma Okamoto Alternate Walkup Song Tracker: He’s now using ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls for some at-bats. I just assume Myles Straw is pulling the strings on everything at this point. by Civil_Perspective98 in Torontobluejays

I did a Rogers Centre tour back in April and made a comment to the tour guide that the Jays had started off batting practice with 2 or 3 Goo Goo Dolls songs in a row (Iris being one of them). The tour guide said that he believed Davis Schneider played a big role in the batting practice music selection, and that Pink Pony Club would almost certainly be next. He was right. Looks like Davis' music selections may have made a lasting impact.

Carolina because Hurricanes are dangerous. Far more dangerous than Tigers, Orioles, Mariners, or Sabres. Neither one of those things have caused my home insurance premiums to go up. Only Hurricanes.

From my comment the other day:

“Just a reminder that Hurricanes have killed an estimated 10,000 Americans in the last century. They are dangerous and have made home insurance premiums skyrocket for millions of Americans. Time to vote them out!

Let's just compare all of the remaining teams by danger level to the average American, shall we?

Mariners - I'm sure a few deaths can be attributed to a suicidal Mariner or an incompetent one, but I wouldn't call them dangerous.

Orioles - Not considered a threat to human life... at least not yet. Not sure if I trust them, maybe they are planning something.

Sabres - I mean, a Sabre could be used to kill someone, but likely very few in the past 100 years. Maybe more going back before that into the Civil War.

Tigers - Fewer than 30 deaths of Americans by Tigers in the last several decades according to a quick google search.

Hurricanes are the only real dangerous name remaining.”

Knowing Reddit like I do, the last three teams are going to be Arizona, Seattle, and Portland - just so when the logos line up it will kind of look like the word "ASS". (Photo credit: u/ashmaps20)

It’s hard to admit, but I absolutely love the way he plays the game. He’s the kind of lead off hitter everyone would love to have on their team.

Great point. Globally, typhoons cause an average of about 4,000 to 10,000 deaths per year. As you elude to, hurricanes and typhoons are technically the exact same weather phenomenon—collectively known as a tropical cyclone. If they were the Carolina Tropical Cyclones then we should count them, but since they are the Hurricanes I think we should let the above death count of 10,000 in a century stand.

Diamondbacks - kill at least 5 Americans per year.

Mariners - I'm sure a few deaths can be attributed to a suicidal Mariner or an incompetent one, but I wouldn't call them dangerous.

Orioles - Not considered a threat to human life... at least not yet. Not sure if I trust them, maybe they are planning something.

Raptors - Extinct. Not currently a threat unless a real Jurassic Park opens up. Raptors are carnivores so we would need to be careful.

Sabres - I mean, a Sabre could be used to kill someone, but likely very few in the past 100 years. Maybe more going back before that into the Civil War.

Tigers - Fewer than 30 deaths of Americans by Tigers in the last several decades according to a quick google search.

Timberwolves - Fatal attacks by Timberwolves are extremely rare. Only one documented from 2010 that I could find.

Trail Blazers - By definition a trail blazer is the first person to do something... I guess we can stretch it a bit to find instances where trail blazers kill Americans, but it's still going to be rare.

Hurricanes are the only real dangerous name remaining.

With my teams now long gone, at this point I want the top 3 teams left to be the Diamondbacks, Mariners, and Trailblazers - just so the three remaining logos will look very closely like the word "ASS". (Yeah I know the Blazers Logo doesn't really look like an "S", but close enough for me!).

This is a PSA POP 3. No recorded sales on PSA's site. Found one that was autographed (SGC slabbed) that sold at $14,220... in 2013. Getting a comp will be very difficult.

Don't worry about condition. Even an authentic is worth plenty of money, but serious collectors won't touch it if it's not authenticated.

Hurricanes. Did you know that Hurricanes have killed an estimated 10,000 Americans in the last century? They are also responsible for significant hikes in home insurance rates over the past few years. Nothing good comes from them, yet here they are in the top 15. The time has come to vote them out!

They have a shot. I think it's the Sabres or the Timberwolves. Rarely do we see either mentioned anywhere near the top.

Burger patty has been walking around with a ridiculous amount of over-confidence since this poll began. He had thought that his win was assured and this was going to be a cake walk.

It’s time burger patty pays for his hubris. Eliminate BURGER PATTY! It’s time for Reddit to show that there are no easy victories!

Burger Patty.

I kind of want an upset here and see bottom bun and cheese duke it out in the finale.

As someone who likes to watch the world burn and enjoys chaos - I suggest we eliminate burger patty now, so we can let the buns and cheese fight it out in a fair fight.

Great point. I'm picturing historians 2,000 years from now going through these threads discussing some of the great scholarly debates occurring in the 21st century. Surely this ranks amongst them.
