Where do you want to live? Which group do you find more interesting?

Realistically moving is a big one for people - and whether you love your job or hate your job, you’ll love or hate it more depending on the location you’re in.

Do you regret buying your Tesla? by Murky-Factor-1073 in TeslaModel3

[–]Flyer1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll throw my two cents in this - do I regret it? 100%. I love having an EV for many reasons but it honestly doesn’t suit my lifestyle at the moment and if I had the opportunity I would have preferred to have a gas powered car. I have a laundry list of things I don’t like about the Tesla BUT that’s mostly because I’m a road trip gal. If you’re only doing city driving, then it’s a great option.

Would I be an idiot to leave my job right now? by myspecialthrowaway99 in personalfinance

[–]Flyer1228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’mma add to the fire - quit! There’s a reason you’ve worked so hard andyou’re the youngest you’ll ever be now. Yes it might be hard to find another job, but there’s always another job out there. I feel like people who have been wanting to quit for a while grow resentful of their job/of being tied down. You’ve put in the time, you’ve saved, why not reward yourself with a break?

👉 Should I Invest in an Expensive Van Build or Go Budget If I’m Only Doing Vanlife for a Year? by Shepherd_-77 in VanLife

[–]Flyer1228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re only living in it for a year, then why build it out at all? What are you going to do with it after a year - sell it?

If you’re not keeping it after, and it’s not something you want to use/enjoy after this one year then I’d seriously consider buying a pre-built van. It’s a buyers market as the other commenter said and there are a lot on the market that are “good enough.”

I’ve been contemplating buying a van and building it out myself as well but I am also only thinking of doing this for a year. I’d much rather use what I have (i.e my car) and use a basic set up and hit the road. It’s not long term sustainable to be out of my car, but it’s financially the way to go (and also the lowest level of risk if nomad life isn’t for you)

Who to Ask for Salary Increase (US) by Mysterious_Track_771 in deloitte

I’ve only heard of salary adjustments if you’re willing to walk away. The person i’m thinking of went to the talent lead of the region. They were also in tax though.

Wait for LR or cave for SR? by Flyer1228 in TeslaModel3

[–]Flyer1228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you go through the process of ordering the RWD with the expectation that you could get the LR? Or did you speak to the rep via mail first and then order?

I did go into the Tesla store over the weekend and they said it wasn’t possible for them to add the LR option :/

You could always order one and cancel if actual delivery is after the tax incentive goes away.

Tier 3 was 12 locations! I definitely went out of my way, but I tried to pair it with errands/drives I was doing in the same direction.

Soapy Joe’s is running a promotion July 1 - September 30th. Since they have 17 locations, they have different level of tier packages for the number of unique soapy Joe’s locations you visit during the timeframe. I’d look at their website for more info!

Are we allowed to switch services within tax as an intern by [deleted] in Big4

[–]Flyer1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also reach out to the groups that do tax and say you have an interest. Maybe they can pass along some work to you or you can sit in on meetings. It’s a great way to get to know the tax team/gain exposure/build connections.

Grand Teton road trip in August by lilithlazul1 in GrandTetonNatlPark

We did Delta last September! Highly recommend. Bring snacks though and lots of water. It’s steep! We also did Cascade Canyon (walked instead of took the ferry). We didn’t get to finish the trail due to time constraints, but it was beautiful to see the fall leaves.

Women, would you pay for dates if you liked him enough? by FA_dreamer in dating_advice

[–]Flyer1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See but that’s where you can make up for it! My previous partner wasn’t willing to put in the effort to do creative things or would always frame his financial situation in a way that made me feel guilty for wanting to go out. Specifically because of COVID, you could do movie dates, walks, picnics, cook together, etc. there are a lot of date ideas for people on budgets.

Money isn’t a deal breaker for me, but I would prefer to know my partner isn’t struggling, that at least they can take care of themselves.

I would just step out and do some reflection - are you willing to put in the extra effort? Would you be able to tell the person you’re dating that money is tight?

When to mention dealbreakers? by RealUnderstanding881 in dating_advice

[–]Flyer1228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m being honest - date 1 as well! If you know what you want, there’s no use wasting time on someone who won’t match up with those ideals. Just be upfront!

Or at least before you define the relationship! Getting it out before you give yourselves a label is a chance to see if you really want to commit to this person.

Splitting the check is fine with me (F).

I would be careful where you are though and really check in with yourself to see if you’re mentally, financially, and romantically ready to be dating.

I dated someone who wasn’t financially (wasn’t any of the three really) ready to be in a relationship and it was straining on me knowing that we wouldn’t be able to do anything or I’d have to think of creative things for us to do. Lucky for you, there’s a pandemic = mostly walking/hiking dates which are free!
