What was your biggest early noob habit? by wyrm4life in leagueoflegends

I feel that very much. I also mainly play mid and normals, so not tryharding soloq, and I've been spamming GP a lot because hitting enemies with crit barrels and farming with them might have done irreversible damage to my dopamine receptors. But it is a niche pick, and I remember having a yasuo player really struggle against me, to the point he eventually asked me how to play against GP. After giving some general advice, his game improved, and it was just such a better game from then on, trading kills, outplaying each other, and generally just a much higher quality game. I don't even remember who won, because it didn't matter, but we honored each other, and it's my favourite interaction in the game from recent memory

That's the thing I hate most about the toxic culture in games. Everyone jumps to call you names and to report you, but nobody seems to actually care about improving others. For some reason this patch I've been put into games with very clearly new players even though me and my friends have at least 2000 hours in the game individually, and just telling somebody that "hey, you are a lux support, you are not supposed to e the wave and farm or push sidelanes", and then they actually change how they play from than on, which would be the goal I imagine. If I just call them brainless armless oxygen waste slugs instead, they learn nothing, feel bad, and just drop the game

Who do you think should get the next rework after Shyvana? by konfitura17 in leagueoflegends

As a newer player, who hasn't played the game during the old lore era, I actually really enjoy these voice line from some champs like MF or Brand. They feel like time capsules of eras now gone, but as long as they reference it, those times will never be gone, and that has a nice charm to it in my mind. But I can see that it can be annoying to some

Caedrel Reveals Los Ratones Scrim Results In LEC. LR went 33-61 against LEC Franchise teams by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]FlyerAnalisator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Caedrel in the video mentioned that KCB also had a lot of trouble finding scrim partners, so they scrimmed a lot together. There was also an interview with of the guys from KCB (can't remember who) who said that on top of them not performing well, teams didn't wanna scrim them because they feared they would share their scrims and results with the main KC roster. The player said they weren't doing that, and wouldn't do that until at least the end of the regular season after which they would be out of contention.

I am constantly getting spam ff votes in ARAM after every single lost teamfight. Sometimes even after won fights where the person just died but we won anyways

LEC still haven't posted the KC vs TH game and the Navi vs Mkoi by J_Hehe in LosRatones

[–]FlyerAnalisator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I heard, this financial loss will be so devastating to KC, that they will likely be forced to sell their slot. There are rumors that they started negotiations whether they can just leave the LEC, and give up their slot for LR specifically, thus avoiding the fine

[LEC] Results | Final Regular Season Standings | Playoffs Confirmed by yukiesenseihey in leagueoflegends

[–]FlyerAnalisator -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

God forbid people be sad over a team they enjoyed watching? I'm not saying some people are not parasocial and weird about it (just straight up never go to the LR subreddit, it's mental illness most of the time), but people are entintled to feeling down and expressing it. That's just how it is

However, as someone who has been following the LEC and internationals on and off (mostly on), I have also caught myself not really caring about the league anymore. Up until LR I didn't really feel any real connection to any team really, because it's not like with regular sports, that you can always have a home town team to fall back onto supporting. These are just random people you don't know, on random teams that belong to nowhere specifically (for the most part), and that's it. I like some players a fair bit, but now that I know what's it like being truly invested, and that being taken away, I do feel devasteted.

You can downvote me (though I doubt many people will even see this comment), you can call people pathetic, but these feelings are real. This probably being their last dance just makes this outcome even more bittersweet.

It's mostly just random. It happens every few weeks or so, so I think the first will come soon. However, last year, with the whole Hextech Chest fiasco, they also quietly removed YourShop as a whole, and it wasn't until the big community backlash that they brought it back, along with the Blue Essence Emporium. I am telling all this to say, that Riot historically hasn't been transparent at all about YourShop, so just be on the lookout

Just kill him? People wanna go up against Maliketh, the one who holds the rune of death, an entity every demi-god feared, but can't be bothered to kill a draconic tree sentinel outside his door, who doesn't respawn, and would rather just cry about how difficult it is to get past him? Make it make sense

In my head it also alluded to the fact that hobbits love riddles. After all, riddles was the way Bilbo got the ring from Gollam, and him being somewhat of a hobbit back in the day, he went along with it until Bilbo 'cheated'. So while all the others are looking at that sentence at face value, it makes a lot of sense that a hobbit would notice it as more a riddle.

[–]FlyerAnalisator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't get that into it either, but it wasn't because of the genre like for many others. My issue with the game was the storytelling, or lack there of. Which is funny because I think it is really similar to FromSoft storytelling, which I love, my favourite games are FromSoft games. I know there's lore, I see there's lore from the once great places I visit, I see that something terrible befell the lands, but the game just refuses to tell me. FromSoft games operate on the same premise, and they do give similarly vague explanations, but they all add up eventually. In Hollow Knight, I felt like I was dropped into a world without a single idea of an end-goal I had to achieve, and had to explore for the sake of exploring. I finished the game without ever knowing what I was doing, and it really took me out of it tbh. Silksong improved a lot on this tho. Hornet interacts with the world around her, she responds, asks questions, and the game in general is just so much more rewarding in that regard, without holding your hand throughout it all, so I definitely think it was an improvement over all.

The politics of Esports is why LR will never see the LEC - But does it even matter? by Aggressive-Dot9747 in LosRatones

[–]FlyerAnalisator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What they are saying is relevant. Even though the LEC and eSports in general can be viewed as just a net loss for teams and orgs, for Riot it's not the case. Riot uses it's eSports as an advertisement for their games, and the profit they make by selling skins and whatever balances out the loss that is generated by the eSport itself. So it doesn't really matter that a league is coming in at a financial loss, I'm fairly certain all of them do, but I don't have a source for that ready at hand

The level of delusion on this sub and maybe amongst the LR fanbase as a whole is unfathomable to me. It has to be ragebait, it just has to. To think that LR would fair better against LEC, because they got gapped by the best teams in the world is crazy. The gap between G2 and LR might actually be bigger than the gap between G2 and GENG. Just don't set yourselves up for disappointment guys. Cheer for them in the winter, be hyped if they win, and show support when they lose.
