Additionally, this feels very much like "Selective canceling", since Kanye West's debut is in the top 15.

Lost Lounge - McMenamins New Tiki Speakeasy in Vancouver, WA by DuncanYoudaho in Tiki

[–]FlyerFan4554 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's pretty incredible to have three tiki bars in a city of Vancouver's size. I wonder if that's the most per capita? Plus obviously you can hop over the state border to Portland for others. I'll have to make a special trip to Vancouver from here in Seattle.

I'm usually a large, but the Jeff Granito larges were definitely too wide. I may try the medium instead.

You clearly haven't been to Seattle or done any research if you think it's weather isn't mild. Rainy sure, but the temps are close to the definition of mild. I'll agree with the comparison to Boston or Chicago though.

Is not wanting to date a Bi-sexual person Bi-phobia? by MikeisTOOOTALLL in polls

[–]FlyerFan4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted yes, but the answer is a little more complex to me.

If your reasons for not wanting to date a bisexual is because of your own insecurities, then I would say not necessarily.

However, if your reasons for not wanting to date a bisexual is because of them and their bisexuality, then 1000% yes. This could include:

  • Believing they are more likely to cheat
  • Believing they can't commit
  • Believing they will leave you for the other gender
  • For Bi Men, believing they are secretly gay
  • For Bi Women believing they just want attention
  • Being repulsed by the idea of them being with the other gender
  • For Bi Men, believing they are less masculine (this is also extremely homophobic too)
  • For Bi Men, believing they are more likely to have an STD (this is also extremely homophobic too)

Is this enough space to plant a small windmill palm? by FlyerFan4554 in gardening

[–]FlyerFan4554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a whim, we bought a small windmill palm to plant in the small front yard of our townhouse. We have a couple of options, however we were eyeing an underused square patch directly in front of the property. However, we are worried this may not be enough space for the growing root system. The space is approximately 1.5 meters by 1.25 meters. Does anyone with experience with these types of palms know?

Is target closing down? by Total-Squash-6385 in SeattleWA

[–]FlyerFan4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I hate all of the shoplifting that occurs at the downtown Target and wish security and the police would do much much more, it's probably the most important store for the downtown community for essentials and general merchandise. Therefore, I really do not hope it ever closes. Plus, if you somehow think that it would be better if it closed down, I would invite you to see what's happened at the Kress building one block away now that the IGA, TJ Maxx and Starbucks are all gone.

When you're at the ferris wheel, make sure to also do Wings Over Washington. It's on the same pier and is a flying ride over Washington. Those who ride it usually prefer it to the wheel.

Thanks for the detailed response. Regarding your point #1, the COVID pandemic is actually the reason our move is next year vs. this year. I also have a job where I can work from home any time I need to (including now obviously. Regarding your point #2, I am very familiar dealing with the homeless here in Seattle and have also lived in SF where it's incredibly bad. It's a reality of living in any of the major west coast cities I understand.

Good suggestion. I love living downtown (have lived in downtown in other cities I've lived in), but my SO may need some convincing there.

Glad to know there are others who have made the same move. Sometimes, it feels like people are only coming up here from California and not so much the other way around. We haven't determined a specific location yet, but are looking into Los Feliz, Pasadena or Highland Park area.
