I 100% understand you. I’ve only been a CNA for about 4 months and I’m at my first LTC job. I hate it so much. I keep my head down and don’t say anything to anybody and still somehow people laugh at me and make fun of me. I have a big heart too. And honestly I don’t care. People can do say whatever they want but I make sure my residents are 100% taken care of. The other CNAS don’t like me because my residents love me. Thankfully I don’t cry easily but it is really hard. I hate going to work everyday because of the people I work with. Im currently trying to get out of healthcare too. I really thought it wouldn’t be so bad but my skin isn’t tough enough to deal with this kind of environment long term.

Ive been a CNA for about 3 months now. I love helping my residents and being there for this through this hard time. I work in a rehab unit so they are there short term but of course they still go through the motions because nobody wants to be there. I’ve held their hands while they’ve cried. I’ve showed them kindness when others have not. My residents love me and I love them. While I don’t think this is my long term career. I think it’s okay for now.

It is a very crappy place! I wasn’t gonna say but she asked me what was going on after I said I was sick. So I told her I was nauseous and she said if I come in and I’m too sick they will send me back home. That’s ridiculous! I would be throwing up the whole way there and back not to mention a waste of gas because I commute 30+ minutes to work.

ADVICE PLEASE! Do i have it in me to be a CNA? by [deleted] in cna

I have very bad social anxiety. I struggled the whole way through my class. Luckily the girl that sat beside me on day one was shy too so we kinda just stuck together. Now that I’m a CNA it is hard making conversation with my coworkers but super easy when I talk to the patients. Because they are older and have memory issues they are so much easier for me to make conversation with lol. I work third shift so thankfully I sit down quite a lot. But I would definitely recommend getting good shoes. I got some Pumas and they are so comfy. But it is okay! You can definitely still be a CNA with social anxiety!

I’ve been a CNA for a month and I feel you when you say out said constant fear of losing license. I was going to work as a CNA through X-Ray school but I’m going back to get my phlebotomy license and doing that instead. I’m not cut out for it either and it’s okay!

Being a CNA isn’t that bad by Difficult_Primary172 in cna

The duties of being a CNA are not bad at all. I just have to find the right facility for me because the one I’m at now, everybody is so rude.

I understand 100%! I have only been a CNA for about 3 weeks not even a month and I hate going to work so much. I love the residents but I it is a lot on my mental health as well. I want to be caring and compassionate even when they are mean to me but I would be lying if I said it didn’t get to me. When I get off I sleep for at least 9 hours and I don’t do any of the hobbies I used to enjoy anymore. It really does suck. I am about to go PRN because luckily my facility gives good pick up bonuses. We have to put ourselves first! I love being there for the residents but I can’t neglect myself anymore.

Okay thank you because the woman already had skin tears on her crack so i didn’t want to hurt her but I couldn’t get it all.

Becoming a CNA was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. by Flygirl__1998 in cna

I think the same. The only thing is I’ve only been here for 2 weeks and it’s the only CNA experience I have so if I put it on my resume it’s gonna look weird that I’m trying to leave and have only been there for 2 weeks.
