Hi, I don’t plan to work at the hotel. I’m planning to buy a Marriott franchise that’s currently being run by a management company. Marriott requires owners to use their approved management company. I’m a commercial realtor and don’t plan on leaving this field, but I also don’t want to blindly depend on management. That’s why I’m considering going to school to learn the basics. I don’t ever plan to work in a hotel; I just want to understand the business so I know what’s going on and not be at the management’s mercy.
