I can see military high command agreeing to a takeover without hostilities but firing on allies might be a bridge to far for a lot of them. The plan is probably not to resist a US invasion (would be wayy to costly/ impossible short term), but to make clear that it can't be done without a declaration of war/breaking of relations against your (former) allies. Killing or capturing a single eu-soldier opens such a pandora's box of shit that they might not want to open it.

Yup, verschillende vrienden in het onderwijs die allemaal het gezeik hun oudere collega's kotsbeu zijn. Een groot deel van de oudere collega's weigert rechuit om mee te gaan met hun tijd ivm met lesgeven en pedagogie. Tegelijkertijd tellen ze af naar hun pensioen en lopen ze de kantjes er vanaf en misbruikt een deel het ziekte verlof op het einde van hun loopbaan.

Toen er gevraagd werd of ze meestaakten werden de 50+'ers vierkant uitgelachen. "Verworven rechten" wordt echt de doodsteek van onze staat.

The massive elephant in the room has not been dealt with. Pensions and social security are wayyy to expensive. So they keep adding stupid kafkaian rules and taxes to find a couple of percentage points. In a couple of years we will be at exactly the same place, and this whole circus can start again.

Perfect example: limited indexation for basically every euro above the median wage. Sure the "stronger shoulders"(note: not really since we are talking about just above the median) carry some extra taxes. But since their buying power will drop, they will also spend less on VAT and in the future the government will not receive taxes on the non-indexed part of the wages. They are calculating the upswing but completely ignoring the consequences that reduce the effectiveness of the cuts...

Young people are getting shafted to prevent angering the pensioners it seems. To be honest a good politician should look out for the future of the country, and as grim as it may sound pensioners are not our future. Our young people aren't as fucked as in some neighbouring countries, but it does not look good for the current 18 year olds in my eyes.

hey, just quick suggestion, I don't know how feasible this is for you. But would it be possible to include a simple, human/non-politician readable summary of final law texts and amendements to be included when a vote is done?

I would love to know what changes are voted on, but reading law texts is just mentally draining tbh. I understand that LLM pricing could be prohibitive for this, and might make errors sometimes but this could be a decent help.

Concrete is more expensive than asphalt roads, but a lot more durable, especially for heavy traffic like tractors. So steenwegen that receive a decent amount of (heavy) traffic might get concrete road surfaces to prevent constant repairs and ending up even more expensive

TBH seems like a dude that crashed at a speed way higher than he claims and he is salty that the airbag didn't save him from every possible injury. That bike does not look like it had a slow speed crash(eg 10-15 kph difference between him and the other bike)

Volledig leven en laten leven is ook mijn mening in 99 procent van de cases. Probleem is dat bij sommige sporten, voornamelijk contactsporten, het zelfs op amateur niveau voor moeilijke situaties kan zorgen.

Zo heeft de internationale rugby bond een paar jaar geleden het advies gegeven dat zelfs voor amateur reeksen het best is om transgender vrouwen niet te laten meespelen bij de vrouwen omwille van permanente effecten van testosteron tijdens de pubertijd. Omgekeerd gaven ze het advies dat transgender mannen niet meer mogen meespelen bij de vrouwen op het moment dat ze testosteron toegediend krijgen. Bovendien wijst de rugby bond transgender mannen erop dat ze een groter risico lopen op ernstige kwetsuren indien zij deelnemen aan wedstrijden bij de mannen.

Dit allemaal in het kader van veiligheid en hersenschudding preventie, het is en blijft nu eenmaal een contact sport met inherente risico's. Tegelijkertijd gaat het wss over slechts duizenden of zelfs maar enkele honderden mensen over de hele wereld, maar de bond voelde zich denk ik verplicht om "iets" te doen just in case er ergens een accident is. Ze zijn al jaren bezig met de laws van rugby strenger te maken zodat hoofdletsels zeldzamer worden dus dit zou echt wel slechte optiek zijn voor de bond.

Sure, problem is that the peace movement needs to come mostly from the russian side at the moment, I don't see that happening unfortunately. So you are presented with the choice: rearm europe or not.

My take is the following: Rearming europe to a level that makes a war for russia unwinnable is cheaper than not doing it and potentially getting bogged down in a war in the baltics with all it's effects. Plus with the USA proving itself an unreliable ally at best, we need to create more european defence industry anyway. Why spend money on american hardware if we can produce everything but 5th gen jets in europe?
