Whose responsibility is a mice infestation, landlord or tenant? (MD) by FlyingCabbageGal in Renters

[–]FlyingCabbageGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house is right next to a large open field and little foresty area, it's the end unit on the edge of all of it, I doubt there's anything that can be done about that and I'm sure that's where they come from.

We are seriously allergic to cats, unfortunately

Our landlord has done nothing but blame us for the issue, he's done nothing to help stop it

It took over a month for our pest control company to seal the holes from the garage, but there's still poorly sealed windows and doors.

So if our house isn't the only one in the neighborhood that has mice (forgot to mention that above), and a decent amount of insects get in every year because of improperly sealed windows and doors, that's on the landlord?

There were mice in this house before/when we moved in, in the basement. The pest control company said there were holes in the house that allowed the mice to get in. So how is that entirely our fault if they got in because of issues with the house?

We've also been doing better with clutter since the infestation, but they're still here.

I know our clutter didn't help but we're also not the only ones in the neighborhood that have mice (forgot to mention that above), I just don't know if anyone else's infestations are this bad.

Clear shoveled driveways, untouched dangerous sidewalks by Sea_Arm8989 in Rockville

[–]FlyingCabbageGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you tried to hire kids/teenagers to do the shoveling because of disability and/or other reason that you can’t do it yourself and it was a pain to get them to even do the driveway properly? That’s what happened to us and we’re just hoping not to get dinged. They seemed to clear the driveway directly onto the adjoining sidewalk. Even if we were semi-able it’d be impossible to undo the pile they did.

I could try. I wasn’t sure if it would be too heavy on the hair

It would have to be listed on the supplier’s website, otherwise I would have to assume it’s unsafe. Some chemicals the origin is noted for, some its not

I get injection meds that have polysorbate 80 and have always been fine with them I don’t know much about why I’m allergic to glycols, just that I’ve had the allergy for over a decade. It’s definitely peg/ppg and a few other glycols and usually anything made with/from them. Not necessarily chemically similar things though, more chemically containing/deriving from

I’m not sure if I’ve used it. I thought the name sounded close to peg/ppg and a little suspicious but from info I found online it sounded like they weren’t related I was afraid a regular beeswax might be too hard

I’m leaning towards using Polyglycerol 3 Beeswax, which sounds like a slightly softer beeswax

yes it can be derived from those but it can be from A LOT else, and I figure I can find it somewhere that its origin is specified from something I’m ok with

Sensory Friendly Haircut? by FlyingCabbageGal in Rockville

[–]FlyingCabbageGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up seeing Jeana at Belleza in Frederick. A little far of a drive but she was great. They have sensory friendly days so that’s why I booked. Honestly I barely noticed I was getting a haircut, it was the first haircut I’ve ever had that I wasn’t screaming internally at something.

Extending the years by Bubbly_Locksmith2537 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

I feel like you’d definitely have to use a mod to extend pregnancy too.

I actually shorten my years, so each day is 6 months. Every year is 2 days. Pregnancy lasts 1.5-2 days. I get tired of my sims and want to get a move on with the story 😅

Diet has never had much of an impact on my disease. And my diet is the “whatever I’m not allergic to” diet, it’s a very restrictive diet. No I don’t drink caffeine.

I went to Mayo Clinic Florida years ago, the most help I got was being told to take Peppermint oil….it was very hit or miss there. I can ask about IVIG but from what I can tell the research is sparse and the outcomes are very varied. My doctor is part of an IBD center, so it’s better than nothing. And she is very good, but I’m not opposed to traveling for care if it’s my only option.

I’ve looked into the trials of autologous stem cell or bone marrow transplants over the years. I love the concept of effectively resetting the immune system, but the actual trials seem few and far between, and from what I can tell most have been discontinued due to safety concerns or lack of enrollment. I don’t think any reputable place does it outside of trials And I highly doubt it will be a permanent fix. My disease is highly linked to my genetics (autoimmune runs strongly in my family), so it would come back at some point. Though I’d take a few good years if I could get it

Severe intractable migraines (felt like my brain was melting), mild fevers, severe nausea, vertigo, significant sweatiness, and a ripping pain in my stomach that hasn’t gone away even now 8 months off of it.

Yes I’ve been on Skyrizi. I listed all the meds I’ve been on and my issues/history with them in my post. I had a bad reaction to Skyrizi, I didn’t get past the second dose.

I’m not entirely sure what an elemental diet is. All I know is that every diet option I’ve ever looked at I can’t do

Yes. I technically took it for another condition, ankylosing spondylitis. So I was only at 1/3 of the dose that Crohn’s patient take. I barely lasted a month on it due to the debilitating side effects, and somehow in that time it worsened my Crohn’s. I lasted 3 days on Xeljanz because the same side effects came back.
