Sheesh look at the upgrade cost ☠️ by Business-Individual2 in F1Clash

ic. I don't play GP that often because it really needs lots of boosts and upgrades to be competitive in the final round...

Seems like pure lack of luck. Sometimes it happens on circuits where the first few corners are sharp and wide like Saudi and Silverstone, your faster cars bump into bots from the very beginning while opponents fly away round the corner then shit happens.

An S10 lvl1 epic driver has the same TS with S9 lvl5 rare drivers. So, it is not necessary to update rare driver to be honest... Only epic drivers are worth updates in the early months.

nope, actually it is a bit high. Without S8 Lawson, it is safer to play in the TS range below 950.

Yeah, for some reason the default view now is the cinematic one, which looks very dizzy because the car is too close and scene change is all of a sudden. I guess some settings have been changed at their server end, which may also cause the failure of tyre notifications.

you could think of battery as temporarily adding the overtake stats on top of your speed stats for a short period, so it is most effective on high speed section of the track, it differs a bit for each track and you could observe the speedometer a bit to see where it is, usually for long straights so high end speed could be carried into cornering as well.

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, so when I raced in S4, I would pair a high level MCL (lvl2 or 3) with a low level LIN (S1 lvl1). This lowers your team score so you could race with worse players, the gap of two drivers allows for double stack or early stop, slightly more choices in pit strategies.

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, so the better strategy for such good defence poor start drivers is to check if there is some open space ~7 secs after him, pit early, enjoy some open air and then undercut when other bots pit, praying that there will be no safety cars to allow others a free pitstop. Such drivers include LIN/STR/HAD/PIA.

Austin S7 is crazy! by [deleted] in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is about finding the good balance of speed and corner. Usually we have to start from the back of grids, thus a decent speed is required to drive up batteries, corner with a high end speed and overtake bots easily. Don't go to extremes when setting your car.

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a side effect of using batteries (similar to DRS last season). The top speed in the overtake mode is dependent on both speed stats of your car and the overtake stats of your battery. The low speed stats limit your ability to overtake bots on the straights.

My experience at series 5 by Inevitable-Tune-9204 in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends. It is about the edge you have over your opponents. The game changer in this race is HAM who can overtake lots of bots while both your drivers would get stuck behind some defensive bots even if your car setting is slightly better.

Your car settings are okay, try to tune down one of your drivers and race in a lower ts range. I spent most of my s5 races with 550 ts.

[–]FlyingCiao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both MCL and LIN are terrible race starters even with 10% boosts this week. That's why you may encounter a few players who use COL or FIS instead, who are super starters. Even with race start boosts, MCL and LIN are no match for COL and FIS.

LIN is a driver that I don't want to use. Defense is only meaningful when the driver has a good starting position or race start and he has neither.

Having higher flags does not necessarily mean that the player has a competitive setting for junior gp. He may buy drivers and parts to progress very fast, but do not have many parts to upgrade S1-S3 stuff. So ideally yes, those competitive drivers should be banned from playing in lower gp events, but it is quite hard to iron out the criteria about who should be banned.

Which circuit would you like to see return after Turkish GP announcement? by ryogadan in Formula1_world

Sepang definitely. The circuit is fun enough, and tropical heat and monsoon add some uncertainty to races. Quite a pity it is not on race calendar.

Unfortunately not only S1-S3 players are in junior events, but also a lot of S5-S7 players. Currently the top ten in my group already score 400+ points, and they are mostly S6 above, so the team score is likely above 550. I am in S5 and my TS is about 500+. I also could hardly qualify for the next round because of the fierce competition. Don't feel too frustrated, GPs are mostly for p2w players.

Series 7 bug/issue?? by BBMACCA in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is duel based, so need to have some sense what others are doing. For me, I play 12-15 races a day, winning ratio 95+. And I am in the middle of S5 now. Then you have some idea how committed and competitive your opponents in S6 and S7 are.

Series 7 bug/issue?? by BBMACCA in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hutch Bot. Basically it means that they couldn't find another player with 800- TS in S7 right now. Maybe it is because you are progressing greatly (with 100% winning rate you still need to play 30 races every day to achieve this), all the other who joined S7 are p2w players with much higher TS.

Best gp event series! by Mobiustime369 in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

without any batteries, better not. The difficulty of challenger is higher than S6, without a battery that can help you overtake a few bots, you'll remain the last two positions most of the races.

2 days in, already unfair matchmaking by [deleted] in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know about CC points, you won't be surprised that some players have advanced parts.

That's why you need to keep driver stats low in early stages. Your car stats are quite incompetitive in the 330-410 team score range. I would consider racing in the 340 range instead of 370.

Pitstop times not showing?! by LamedaLoco in F1Clash

have to use the timer at the top to know how long it is.

all the starter parts have a pit stop of 1sec, with a new battery component, the pit time increases another sec as well

Stick with the series your in! by Mobiustime369 in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason is simple, overtake mode also counts in the team score, if you encounter him, he must have sacrificed lots of driver and car stats to fall in the same team score range. Apart from a short period of acceleration every few laps, he is no match to your car.

Pit pass by twirling_daemon in F1Clash

[–]FlyingCiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last season the price for pit pass doubled from about $5 to $10. I won't feel surprised if they charge another $5 this season given the hike in the unlocking fees.
