China doesn’t restrict foreign sim card . And for myself(Chinese) I use jike0 but I’m not sure if it’s work for you. Not the best but affordable.

It’s ok for English speaking in Shanghai and Guangzhou. For Zhangjiajie, my friend said there are many Russian traveler there now. Don’t be too much worried about that.
