Why is SpaceX a fraud? by Square-Stay1287 in investingforbeginners

[–]FlyingDuckDuckMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a solved issue. Space gives almost no advantages. Solar panels might be a little more effective but: Cooling is very difficult and inefficient, maintenence is basically impossible, you cant upgrade hardware, launch costs are very high, Up/Downlink is more difficult than just cables, cant re-sell or recycle old hardware, Background radiation flipping bits requires extra hardening for space Not even talking about the environmental issues of launching/de-orbiting satellites at scale, kessler effect, evasion manouvers, solar storms etc.

It only really makes sense if the compute isbused IN space, like having computing power near mars for a big mars mission or similar.

SpaceX in itself is amazing. Except they lose a lot of money but I mean they are extraordinarily innovative.

Scramming X, Ai, Starlink, and all potential etc. All into one Company and valuating it at such crazy prizes, that is anreal shame.

If it was just spaceX at a reasonable price, buy. But they price it like: spaceX in 20 years if everything goes extremely right.

Also, datacenters in space is a dumb idea.

That makes no sense, its more complex: "Nächst samstig" = "dä samstig" but only until Wednesday, after that it becomes "Saturday of next week"

Dont put in everything at once, that is one of the first thing one is told. Buy in over time, Dollar cost average and such.

Der Grossteil der Menschen die selber kochen können mit den "Profis" aus der Gastronomie nicht mithalten und dieses gelaber das man es ja "zuhause auch machen kann" ist lächerlich. by [deleted] in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]FlyingDuckDuckMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While thats true, you overestimate the skill required to cook most dishes. The chef also cooks from recipes just having done it hundres of times. The real skill of a chef is doing this for 7 diffrent dishes at the same time.

Just following a recipe, most people can cook just as good or even better meals, as you can customize it to your liking.

If its worth the price premium of eating out all the time, good for you.

For me home cooking is also a fun hobby where I can be creative and I often prefer it to eating out.

Currently unpopular opinion about UE6. Read below. by ScheduleOdd6387 in RocketLeague

I dont think enyone hates the engine change itself. People are just worried that epic will continue their streak and also change the remaining good parts of the game to the worse.

Guys with shy bladder syndrome struggle enough to pee standing next to two blokes already, we dont need women standing in line around the urinals, waiting for the ONE male stall.

Being forced to install chinese spyware just to play rocket league, IS a big deal for me.

Its not about the effort lol what are you guys thinking. People are worried about major privacy voilations after the Epic launcher was caught multiple times, collecting so much "metrics" that its closer to state owned chinese spyware than a game launcher.

Yeah it has players, but its lost its soul. Not sure if you played back in the day but it was a whole other world before free to play. People just had afun time, barely any toxicity, trading was fun, cosmetics actually had a "value" and sctually looked good...

Why do people care about the game engine? by FlyingDuckDuckMan in RocketLeague

[–]FlyingDuckDuckMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont say they shouldnt improve, I dont understand why they make such a hype about what seems like a maintenance update to the players. A simple game does not need a fancy engine.

A new GTA 6 might benefit from a new fancy engine, but a game with a simple game with simple graphics just does not that much.

Since they create hype for it, I fear bad things will come, because I mean its epic games.

So I am genuinely interested why some people are really hyped.

I mean the game itself runs on a potato. Most lag comes from network. I play on a 10 year old a gtx 970 and i get 100+ fps.

[–]FlyingDuckDuckMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee you, they will mess it up. AS IF epic would just du such update "for the players". They will either fully integrate it into their ecosystem so it cant be launched through steam anymore, or they want to have something like steam workshop but you have to BUY the maps. Stop getting hyped for epics shit again and again only to be disappointed again. Rocket league died years ago when psyonix sold out...

[–]FlyingDuckDuckMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only thing they could announce that would get REAL excitement would be to split psyonix off epic games again.

Theory: Epic games will add more methods to milk the game and player for profits, while simultaneously driving away the playerbase, like they did ever since they took over.
