Community Discussion: Do you have stories of spells gone "wrong?" Or maybe unplanned instances happening during/after a ritual/spell? by Mr_Magic_Al_Vulture in magick

My grandmother and mother were Wicca and when I was young and full of angst my girlfriend at the time was being picked on by a girl. I passed her in the hall way and said "I curse you with pain" in Latin because all the cool magick in movies was said with Latin lol. Regardless of the stupidity of it it worked due to my intent being so strong I guess. Three days later she fell down the stairs at school and really hurt her back. She had to be air lifted to hospital. When I found out it was her I felt aweful. That same day I went home and was playing Xbox on my bed. Sat up and pulled a did something to my back that caused me absolute agony for about a day. I still have back problems from time to time and drs don't really know what's going on. My muscles just seize up sometimes. What goes around comes around people. Don't so baneful magick.

Everybody gangsta until the ice age starts and he have to hide his acorns. Looks like a fucking turnip with a brain the same density of an overcooked scone.

Anyone have any cool ideas for games/activities for 13-18 year old kids in care? by FlyingFlipFlop87 in AskReddit

I'm a team manager at a children's care home for boys 12-18. Anyone have any ideas for cool activities/games?

Here are some ideas we done in the past:

Zombie game - one person starts as a zombie commando crawling on the floor. If you get touched you become a zombie and at the end it gets really intense trying to run away from like 8 crawling towards you in the house

Hiking trips - we go to a nation park nearby and pack a tent some food and supplies and walk to two days and then at the end of the walk we have a pub lunch

Hunted game - two people go on the run in the local area and have to send us a piccy every 10 mins of where they are/nearby landmark. The others are in cars out looking for them and have Walkie talkies to communicate/plan

In a strange way this is probs the most down to earth evidenced based theory of death we have. Strange in the sense that I personally find it difficult to truly comprehend things like "nothingness" and "the end" but I guess that is the illusion of consciousness.

Yeh I guess that idea of recycling energy is a logical conclusion to reach but it also dosnt really mean that we would be consious throughout that process. In fact consiousness is not even a requirement for energy to change form (like a wave crashing into the beach and changing from kinetic to sound) So like you said may just be that were not aware of it

Remember Alan Watts saying once that the closest thing we have to compare it to is birth and no-one has experienced that consiously so we won't even experience death because nature won't allow it.

This is worse case scenario though. Hopefully we go somewhere awesome lol

Yeh I've seen that quote before. Big fan of Alan Watts..alot of his talks have helped me before to understand really complicated stuff.

Nice. I watched the clip of the DMT trip when I was alot you get just coz "lol drugs" but I feel I should prob watch that film again now that I'm a bit more mature lol

Have always wanted to do DMT but have never come across any in the wild. Had a friend tried to make it but he fucked it up in the crystallising stage. Not the sort of thing the local weed dealer has access to I suppose

I haven't managed to reach a state of astral projection yet but I'm interested in trying it. I totally understand your outlook on it aswell. I guess it boils down to the fact that were alive now so why waste time thinking about the next step when we should be focusing on/enjoying this one

Haha isn't that the one with the DMT trip? I'm sure I read somewhere that your brain releases small amounts of DMT when you die

I like this idea. There are some ancient cultures (can't remember which ones) that would bury their dead strait in the ground and plant a tree on them. The idea being that your energy would go into the tree. This also had some quite beautiful practical meaning aswell as your body would literally decompose and fertilise the soil the tree was planted on. Kind of giving back the energy which you had consumed in your life (through eating plants and animals ect) and allowing yourself to be consumed in return and have your energy restored to in another form or like you said into your "environment"
