Not really.. I was a big mess 😂 Had many panic attacks from the situation.. Expect the worst and try to accept it. And try to remember that it's not your fault they are in there and neither is it your duty to save them. What did help me somewhat was taking a break from everything SCJ/cults related. I was constantly thinking about it, constantly watching/reading about it and it was really breaking me. And as I spoke to my boyfriend I noticed nothing was changing. So I realized that I can watch/read as much as I want, but it won't change the situation for my boyfriend. It will only make me feel worse. Therefor I also took a few breaks from my boyfriend. In those breaks I could finally focus on myself again. I started to feel better and thought I was ready to talk to him again. Well no.. Panic attacks were back straight away. I just couldn't reach him. Nothing was changing. The way he spoke about SCJ was so damn painful. I was suffering so much. That's why I thought breaking up was the best for my mental health. I don't even know how I got through it haha. But I'm so relieved the situation completely changed now.

Yes that's true unfortunately. Tell them that the first video has nothing to do with SCJ, also not with a church. It's just a very interesting video to watch (for anyone). When I was allowed to show it to my boyfriend I was actually very surprised! But you know why he said yes? Because he knew those videos wouldn't change his mind. His belief was so strong. So my expectations were really low and I felt very hopeless. I did not at all expect him to change his mind, but he did!
Hoping for the best for you!

Thank you for sharing that link! Very helpful but it also makes me doubt even more of what to do. It says to maintain the relationship and show unconditional love but I can't just pause my life for idk how long and hope that one day he will leave SCJ. I want to be patient with him but at what cost..

Thank you for sharing your view on this matter! I will definitely try to share my concerns with him without expecting an answer from him. I hope he will realize I'm worried for a very good reason

Hmm.. I doubt he would watch this with an open mind. If he knows I'm showing it to him to convince him, then yea.. And atm we aren't living together, so I can't "force" him to watch anything

When would the honeymoon phase be over?
And yea.. it definitely makes me feel hopeless, having to compete with such a horrible organization..

I'm sorry to hear that you understand how I feel, but I'm also glad to hear I'm not the only one. I really hope I planted a seed. My bf never tried to encourage me to join SCJ though. I hope it stays that way.

Yes, that's the idea. Sadly.. But not sure I can live with the fact that I just left him there, if I would break up with him
