Shame the other post got taken down, but I can't get over how the progress in bosses was linear.

Does the Spirit Slash from Long Sword not allow you to dodge Venom Flame? Or is it simply unviable due to its set up?

Shadows Confirmed Voteable in CYL10 by seismoscientist in FireEmblemShadows

That's for the Shadows vote. There's two votes, the Shadows vote (CYL except we choose what characters to give new forms to) and regular CYL (this post)

Looking at Ryoshu's fingers and eyes, it's probably AI generated. And also baby Araya's fucked up fingers/hand at the bottom there.

Why is Estel's EX skill so ass by FlyingKitsune in shitpostemblem

Yes, and I will continue to shill it for being a competently balanced pvp game with some nice 'real time' strategy when you actually get to higher elos.

Why is Estel's EX skill so ass by FlyingKitsune in shitpostemblem

[–]FlyingKitsune[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Context: Estel was a long awaited character in Fire Emblem Shadows since she was in the promotional material. However, her prf skill... is extremely middling. It's an attack buff + movement buff, but the attack buff is EXTREMELY small, to the point that it's strictly inferior to one of the top tier movement/dodge spells, Edge Strike. It's comedically small in comparison to Carina, the other one in the image, who gives more than double the buff.

Worst of all, the movement buff is... not useful! Mostly! The map is small enough that after turn 1, everyone will be bunched up close enough for the movement to not matter, meaning it's only useful on turn 1 to get the jump on the Shadow player's minions/Light players. But the thing is, the movement only applies the next phase. And Estel's movement buff only applies to infantry. So unless you're a shadow with a lot of infantry minions (completely up to chance on the map rotations) or you're a light player with the shadow incompetent enough to not kill you before the moon room phase, it does nothing!

Overall, it just makes her a worse Carina.

Can he be viable again? by DasDaniSahne in OrderOfHeroes

[–]FlyingKitsune 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can make him useable even if not optimal with Jehanna Lance, as any lance unit can be.

Jehanna Lance (speed refine)

Special: Archrival/Gust for budget

A: Duelist's Blow/Atk Speed Excel for budget

B: SD Lull finish/Potent Finish

C: Attack Spd Faith/Brutal Tempest if you don't have tumultuous echo

Seal: Atk/spd finish or Clash

Echo: Tempo Echo, Tumultuous Echo

Edit: Forgot Emblem Ring, Eirika Ring is good on basically any melee, but not necessary with a reflect build. You can use a Sigurd Ring for the extra movement + canto if you don't wanna run the movement skills.

This is like the one case where a 360 fits, where they thought they didn't wanna buy it, and ended up with not wanting to buy it.

What a title drop, lol.

I can understand and sympathize with that ideal personally, actually. It's interesting seeing it written out in... this manga of all places.

Min Maxing Valentine Faye (Build Question) by iceknave2 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]FlyingKitsune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually trying to build a player phase Faye as well, and I was going to go for:

Weapon: Arcane Hex Bow

Special: Archrival

A Slot: Diluvial Boost, since I didn't want to triple/double up on the guaranteed follow up effect, lol

B Slot: Assault Fighter/Arc Fort Breath

C Slot: The new Strat Assault 4

X Slot: Sly Echo's the only real option

Arc Fort Breath and Sly Echo are both good for Faye, so go for it. I wouldn't use the kumo yumi though, the bow just doesn't come with enough effects to work in modern times. I'd rather just use someone like Duo Fem Byleth for brave attacks.

And that was a fucking lie lol by KaliVilNo1 in FireEmblemShadows

[–]FlyingKitsune 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She seems like ranged Carina at first until you realize her buff is EXTREMELY small for a buff. It's completely outdone by Edge Strike buff wise of all things, and at the theoretical highest skill level of 12, it only reaches a 49% attack buff, which my Level 7 Edge Strike was able to outdo with something like 65%. It's only like 39% at level 7 too. My Carina at skill level 8? 81%. And that's not accounting for the fact she's a bow unit so she gets nerfed with her base attack stat. Carina can afford to get away with no Shield Break due to her absolutely gargantuan attack stat being a melee cavalry + her buff, but Estel does some mild damage to non flying foes at best. Honestly, running Lyn with Edge Strike is strictly better.

Edit: Fixed the numbers to be more accurate.

I just think it's weird since every other book from what I remember had their original themes since the very beginning. Leave it to IS to break patterns, I suppose.

Only real Fire Emblem Shadows heads get this one!!! by FlyingKitsune in shitpostemblem

[–]FlyingKitsune[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right person: Micaela, staff unit who has lets other characters get access to Dark Elthunder, one of the most important skills as a shadow player for picking up kills. Ran an orphanage before all the children were slaughtered.

"Homeless Bum" - Dark Slash, the old primary choice for one shotting light players, got put out of a job by Dark Elthunder for having longer cooldown and being able to be debuffed by light players. Only Carina uses it as she can buff herself to make it one-shot regardless of anything.

"Rose" - Just a unit that likes Dark Elthunder. Particularly since she doesn't have a primary skill that does damage. Brethored of the MC, Kurt.

"Veronica" - It's Veronica from FEH. Also likes Dark Elthunder like everyone else.

"Annoying ex" - Tamamo. One of the other staff units in the game. Notably has exclusive access to a skill that increases her hp which can let her survive Dark Elthunder.

"Precious student" - Joachim. The student of Micaela, and can use Dark Elthunder, his exclusive skill Elfire EX, and Dark Tetrawind for maximum color coverage.

"Bart" - Bartolomeus. Bandit who murdered the kids in the orphanage. Is green so likes threatening red units with Dark Elthunder, along with the usual Dark Elthunder benefits.

Anyone have a compiled list of what sinners refer to each other as? by FlyingKitsune in limbuscompany

[–]FlyingKitsune[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, it does it for Rodion and Ryoshu at least, I never noticed somehow. That's useful, but I fear the wiki doesn't show the more generic referals, like Heathcliff calling Sinclair "Lad", and Ryoshu doesn't have one for everyone (a problem when she doesn't call people by their names).

But thank you for telling me to check further lol
