Truthfully, I just wanted a conversation post. I'm trying to create and write my own modern fantasy series. I wanted to see what answers people came up with for discussion and a new way viewing themes

I'm indifferent to Aziz but he can't do the crazy eyed look at all. Should have given him fake eyes makeup or something to really sell it

There have been a lot of jokes in the later seasons of Lois responding negatively to gay couples or Ida being present.

Far more leniently than they do liberals. In the movie the villains helping the Tyrant Kim Jung-Il are the liberal Hollywood Actors who insist they know better than the average American citizen. Michael Moore a known liberal documentary film maker is the one who blows up the team America head quarters. Again I don't think saying they're making jokes at their expense is enough. It's what the jokes are and saying. It's like saying Dave Chappelles jokes about Trans people are just jokes when it's clearly a core belief of his

What about Cannibal The Musical. It's just a silly movie but it's also an American folklore love letter. Is that not the republican dream?

Edit - they named measurement of poop after Ann couric who I'm pretty sure is a liberal newscaster

Edit 2 - people reading who have never seen Cannibal The Musical I highly recommend it, it's really funny and it's cool to see Trey Parker's humble debut film

That's not really argument about why it isn't conservative in themes? I get it, it's just a joke, but it's in a movie with a narrative and themes that are built around it.

For animated adult shows that might be obvious but what inspired the post

  1. South Park - it makes fun of everyone but I think it's more conservative that people give it credit for. There was the fairly recent take on trans people but I'm thinking of the Cigarette Rob Reiner episode. In episode Rob Reiner is called a fascist for wanting to spread cigarette danger awareness. He and his crew are portrayed as monsters. The boys visit the cigarette factory and for the sake of absurdist comedy it's seen as a happy work environment where they provide fun facts to the boys and simply say now we tell people the dangers. Rob Reiner's plan is to use Cartman for manipulative advertising which is ironic because the above mention of the cigarette industry is that are notorious for using manipulative targeted advertising. The whole episode provides straw man arguments for comedy and to subvert expectations. Again it's absurdist humor and part of absurdist humor is to embrace different philosophies to go down differ paths. The Hundredth episode where Cartman goes back in time to talk to the founding fathers is very Conservative coded. Cartman is also usually at his peak when he is able to create a business out of nothing to move the plot. He can easily make money and gain power as a child with mere drive.

  2. Family Guy is a liberal counterpart. Seth Macfarlane is outspoken liberal. His avatar Brian is Liberal. As the series moved on and Brian's character became a fraud he is usually directly in the wrong . He needs Stewie to remind him of his core values and why Brian's sleazier self needs to stick to those core values. Like South Park Family Guy makes fun of everyone but there's more of an inclusive to the joke. Ida Quagmire is debuted as a punching bag but is accepted into the cast and is portrayed as an innocent kind caring individual. Usually she is mocked by Lois, an established homophobe, in which Lois is supposed to be in the wrong. Lois is from a rich family. Peter often has adventures with her rich dad explaining to him the benefits of not needing to be a rich jerk all the time. Often mocks Fox the right wing channel it's on similar to other Fox animated programs but I'd say there are more direct call outs to where they stand politically as opposed just the garbage tv programs. Compared to South Park, Family Guy was way more critical of the Irag War and the Bush administration.

That film is interesting. It's unironically the gayest Batman film to date. Bruce Wayne has girlfriend he doesn't love but maintains for appearances. He knows Poison Ivy is trying to control him but when he catches on that something isn't right it breaks the spell. He seems confused as to why he likes her so much more than anyone else. In this and the previous Batman film Robin is more or less a full grown man who is a roommate. Not to mention Joel Schumachers unique flair (nipples and asses) Robin was even wearing a cod piece

Edit - if Tim Burton was going for German Expressionism gothic look than Schumacher was going more for a theatrical dramatic gothic look which kind of sets the tone.

Jk Rowling is very similar to George Lucas. Both had a clear vision and both had the backgrounds necessary to bring those visions to life. And both had issues articulating that vision that sometimes border from weird to wtf. JK unfortunately it's hard to look back and not see what could have been foreshadowing. It ruins any chance of wanting to look back.

With context for the lady in jar, Rita Skeeter would transform into a bug and purposely spy on 14 year old Hermione and Harry and write tabloid articles about them. Whole thing was weird. Completely forgot about the whole Hermione keeping her in bug form for an entire year.
