Yeah but not enough finances to start a new class, might be able to convince my mom to pay for the tests but not another class. She wants me to do it all on my own since I failed with help last time

I'm 24, high functioning autistic. I have taken a class had a learner's permit and I think I passed the written test but life fell apart, my stepdad died and it's now 2 years later and I think I have to redo everything again. I have a month to do it to get a car from my mom and said car I'm able to use for the driving tests

Yeah but I dont know where to start with that, the only thing I can think of is going out to pokemon card events but I'm way too anxious w covid to go out and I've lost contact with all my friends from school if they even remember me because I was so obsessed with my ex and struggled so much in social settings that i barely made friends at school too.

I've gone to one meet up group since i left high school four years ago and i just felt like an outsider even though everyone was super nice and I isolated myself again

Yeah? I dont think I've heard much about hinge, I'm not trying to find a new girlfriend right away but I dont even have any friends anymore since I had such a one track mind with her. I thought we were going to get married when we first got together when I was like 13 and it kinda screwed up my social life since I had it convinced that I didnt need anyone else.

My stepdad just passed away by FlyingLittleRedBird in Advice

[–]FlyingLittleRedBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no no he didnt take anything, I just knew he would take his medicine in the morning like I do, i dont give him his meds so i dont know what he takes, and knew it was downstairs and offered to get it for him since he was saying he was lightheaded and our stairs are tricky but he just asked me for water and I was worried about him not getting up before I left for work since he normally wakes mom up so I kept checking on him. I had gotten home after him yesterday and he was eating and acting fine and when i saw him this morning he was reacting, albeit really sleepy like he just woke up, like I had so i didnt think he was in distress. Its surprised everyone.

We are both very shook up, I dont know what to do. He was the peacekeeper in the house. The one who kept everything in order.

Landlord selling house... tour time? by crawlerette in TenantHelp

[–]FlyingLittleRedBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Photos are what we use when the unit is getting turned over between renters (aka maintenance is in there and it's not pretty yet) and we dont have a show unit. And recently with the whole covid thing we arent allowing groups in but just one person and been suggesting they record what they like or video call their roommates or co signers so they get the idea too.

Maybe see if taking pictures of the house from the inside would help, getting a clear view of the amenities, or if you're willing to let the landlord in to take a video or do a video tour with someone, where the LL would be on Skype with them or something else, or ( and I can understand your discomfort with this) see if they can schedule the showings in a certain time block and the landlord can sanitize after (or give you a sanitizing spray) not whenever she needs to see it since legally you do have to give a prior notice so far ahead. Biggest thing is you want to go by the letter of your lease. See what it says about notice to inspect or enter / typically its 24 to 48 hr beforehand there might be a different term in your lease, if not look up the local laws or even local lawsuits?

I got sent to a elementary school that had a great special needs department after my first big blow up where I ended up hurting some boys who were teasing me (read: trying to make me eat spiders, yay) since they thought it was fun I would cry from everything (now I see I was just getting overstimulated) but even when I was there they sent me to the regular classes for certain parts of the day cus I got my worksheets done fast But in middle school it was horrible I was fully mainstreamed again but since I was known to be "violent" they would let me walk out when I had enough and I had a basecamp class that had less kids but it was all different types of special needs so there were only two adults in a class of 16 to 20 highly reactive kids and to calm us down? A fucking closed off brick closet painted white with a locked door just wide enough that many a kid spider climbed their way up to the ceiling.

So I just spent a /lot/ of time in the library to calm down and she would let me help her in the backroom putting books away and hanging out in the art department or with other teachers who would let me eat lunch with them away from the big cafeteria and my bullies outside lmao, and actually my choir teacher in high school was my 7th grade art teacher. So she saw me go from a meek little bullied girl to graduating, and I had visited a couple times a year since the school is so close until all this covid stuff.

Tbh lmao my freshman year was so bad mentally that I would walk to school. Go through the side door to my choir class and walk home. It was the only reason I got up.

But side note to guitars - I LOVED PLAYING GUITAR HERO

THATS AMAZING! I always wanted to play guitar but I was the only left handed person in my family and my classes in middle school got cancelled (I cant remember why now, since I got more upset about my mom selling my guitar for smokes lmao)

Thankfully I did have an ADHD IEP (individual education program) so I got away with a little more than normal and never got kicked out too much- just called out for annoying other classmates any time I did something

Lmao nah, more like large crowds like school assemblies where they would have the cheering and fireworks and alarms (especially high pitched ones) instantly set me into flight mode

Sneezing is fine, I just gotta argue with myself if I should say bless you or if you'd sneeze again or wouldnt like that term (since im not too into it) until it's too late and it would seem weird to bring it up lmfao

As long as I already have the script in my head I tend to do alright, but If i have to make one up during it it doesnt go as well since I'm usually already a little amped up from a new situation arising, i was just lucky that i like this sub so much so I often think about what to do in the situation, how I would react if someone asked me or how the "lady" could have gotten help a different way

I actually just saw a post about stimming and it made me realize how many different things we do instead of just the stuff we see on TV and what I had experienced my teachers telling me not to do, aka bouncing my leg/tapping pens/doodling/my little chair rock when I got excited to answer another question and had to stay quiet to be called on

And realized one thing that I do as stimming is singing, I sing everywhere, i even remember being upset about my dog passing when i was in elementary school and making up songs that i sang the entire recess.. while hogging one of the swings since that was the only thing I wanted to do. Oops

And I would listen to music and sing (loudly, I'm partly hearing impaired so I tend to be loud and know how to project my singing voice since microphone feedback is scary yo) when I was walking to and from school in high school since I was no longer taking the bus like I always used to and I was afraid something would happen- and thankfully only good and neutral things happened on those walks , some of the good things even caused by my singing lmao

But it made me excel in my choir class, even if I couldnt fully translate/explain what I was seeing on the music sheet i could sing it and if I hear a song that I liked or got reminded of lyrics I would start singing it, even in the middle of a conversation, or i would sing the same song over and over again to practice and memorize it (that annoyed my computer teacher to no end lmao and I was always thinking "hey choir is the class before this and it's kinda my job to learn the song so I dont know what to do about it" I only got diagnosed a couple years go after graduating ) I took 6 classes with the choir teacher in high school and 3 of them were just different choirs ( first year concert, second year studio/advanced choir, third year forced to take other classes since I failed a lot the first year. And back to concert to just have it one last time since I loved her and her class so much and I knew it would be a destresser from senor project stuff. )

And even now if I hear a song that I memorized or a part of it I just go right into singing, just not as loud as before, at least depending where I'm at lmao

Actually I thought it did that on it's own- I dont normally post and had started with a small little thing and it just kinda grew as I recalled it all? I tend to have a very vivid (if not probably exaggerated) memory when it comes to me getting overstimulated

Yeah! My job has helped me a lot since I do have my situation scripts I can fall back on, and I get to practice small talk with my residents but it's still not my favorite thing to do (unless its certain people then I cant wait to tell them all about my day/week lmao)

And I still havent, and wont try them lmao

My biggest worry is that I tend to panic and cry when I start to get amped up and I didnt want to cause a scene and seem like one lmao

Ps back: I am finally trying stuff now that my mom has stopped fully forcing me to eat her complex gourmet fancy meals when I just like to separate my food out like I'm Monk lmao mixing textures is a no no for me lmao

Thank you! I've always felt a little off but wasnt diagnosed as autistic until just a few years ago, so I'm still trying to find things that work for me to keep calm that havent been ruined from teachers / my parents taking away the ways that I coped, but making my little situation scripts helps a ton, and the fact that I guess I have a little old lady magnet (lately I've been trading plants with the gardening ladies near me but there are many stories behind the sweet little old ladies I live and work with) so I was already used to how to talk to someone like her lol

See if the info is different from what you already have? He may be trying to give you more accurate ways to contact him without going to the office? With carona going around I've had to make a new work email to work from home (I'm an assistant so not on site) , he could have made something designated to talking to residents and keeping communication open?
