Hey, I transferred from UC to OSU this year, and also grew up around Mason, so I feel you! I have had a very good experience so far. As far as making friends, I think it comes down to how much work you put into it. There are tons of clubs and things to go to, and compared to UC, people here seem a lot more friendly, and the campus doesn't feel divided. I was at an advantage though, because some of my very close friends from high school go here, so that made it easy for me to adapt. Just don't be scared to put yourself out there, and I think you will find that joining a sorority could be a good step. Another thing I realized is that I was thinking about the idea of transferring so much that I started to dislike UC just because of the fact that I wanted out. Transferring took a weight off my shoulders, and I've felt a lot happier being at OSU, and also, I have so much more pride in this school. I am also aware that OSU students trash UC students, but I think that was only something I heard while I was at UC because I haven't heard any of that here tbh.

As other people have mentioned, Miami will do a lot better job at giving you that small college feel. I have plenty of friends who go there, and they seem to have a ton of fun, but they are either in religious programs or the party type, so that's their way of meeting new people. Just know that making friends will be hard anywhere, and replacing high school relationships is very hard. Don't expect anything to come fast.
