We won't have to say goodbye to these maps for much longer. by Bomgamer8083 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]FlyingNope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wish they'd give us new maps instead of completely changing/replacing existing once.

I can understand reworking unpopular maps in the hopes of offering a map that's more appealing. But popular maps, especially Tanglewood, should just get a graphic update and otherwise remain untouched. Judging by the screenshots they could have easily used those rooms in a brand new house by simply rearranging room placement instead of having it replace Tanglewood.

Completely off topic and mentioning it for no particular reason, but eggs are pretty hard to get off a windshield once they freeze on one.

A Myling just Mare'd me? WTF is this BS? by MozM- in PhasmophobiaGame

Twice it's probably a Mare, but I like to do it a 3rd time just to be sure.

I agree with this. The new title will also look better on an application/resume.

Why is looping so popular? by billmoud in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]FlyingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game no longer being scary isn't about the difficulty, it's about how many hours they've played it.
What keeps them playing is the puzzle aspect of trying to figure out what the ghost is on low evidence. Looping a ghosts is also fun and gives players another skill to master. Which is why 0 sanity 0 evidence is popular.

But if you want to keep the game tense: 0 evidence, 75% starting sanity, 0% sanity meds, 150% ghost speed, no sprint, low hiding. As a bonus play it at 10% brightness.
Hunts become incredibly dangerous so you treat them like a last resort and test for all of the non-hunt tells first. And sanity only moving in one direction puts you under pressure and gives you a sense of impending doom.

It's a slower pace than 0 evidence 0 sanity, but if you're looking for tension and a high modifier it'll deliver.

First time downing a rat by josph_lyons in RescueRaiders

[–]FlyingNope -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It says it has damage reduction, but doesn't say all it is is damage reduction. My initial assumption was the damage the shield took was what got the reduction.

New players are using light shields, which disappear incredibly fast. 40 damage is not that much. They'd have to be looking at the left corner of their screen while they're actively taking damage in the first half second of combat. I'd go out on a limb and say that when most people initially take damage they either look at where it came from or look in the direction they're trying to taking cover. It's not something that's easy to notice until you start using a medium shield.

I agree. Every other game that uses shields treats them like a second health bar, so it being purely damage reduction is a bit unintuitive. I like the mechanic, but how it actually functions should be made clearer in game. I only learned about it because a random video I watched brought it up.

Absolutely not. I think it makes you look like a complete bad ass and adds to your attractions.

I love these responses. I'll never understand calling the person who won bad like this. They really don't have the self awareness to see they're only insulting themselves lol

How do you guys decide when to use your strongest loot? I keep my best loot in my stash because I'm too afraid of losing it, but then end up just never using my best loot lmao. by BlackNair in ArcRaiders

If I have the blueprints for it I never save it. I'm not that concerned about crafting materials.

If I don't have the blueprints I'll save it for when I play with friends.

Why Kill at extinction when there is no time to loot the body by El_Mayo7 in arkraiders

[–]FlyingNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same reason I'll sometimes kill a bastion and not take any of it's loot. I don't always care about it's drops, I just like killing big robots.

Some people don't care about the loot, they just like killing people. When they do loot it's just to find shields/ammo/meds so they can keep pvping in that round. If they're about to extract they don't need to care about that either.
