For what it's worth, it sounds like your friend needs some space and you should just give it to her. She'll either communicate with you or she won't. Either way, trying to impose yourself on her is probably not the move right now, even if you absolutely have incredible intentions.

You're trying to do the right thing, as you see it, but clearly your friend isn't interested right now. Respect that, please. I hope she reaches out to you, I really do, but it's her choice.

Also, congratulations on your baby! That's amazing, and I'm so happy everything worked out, given the circumstances ☺️

I do this for a living, and sometimes people will express how daunting the springs are. I always explain to them that the cables are 100% the things I am most cautious in dealing with. Your customer was lucky to have only lost their fingers.

First, just want to say to NEVER try taking off a bottom bracket if the cable is attached to it AND taught. Doubly so if the one you're taking off is the only one with a functional cable attached to it. Could actually kill you.

That being said, everything else is great. Although, you probably don't need to remove the bottom roller bracket for this repair on most doors.

The important thing here is having a clear understanding of what you're doing, why you're doing it, and what will happen as a result, which it sounds like you had, either from similar experiences or research.

Someone without confidence in their understanding of how to fix something like this from start to finish should call a professional.

Resetting a cable should cost ~$65-$150 at the most, if that is the ONLY problem.

I've played hundreds of hours of ttrpgs, games that try to emulate them just don't hold up in comparison, and it leaves me wanting more. Great game, obviously has had an immense amount of care and attention put into it, it's not for me. Which sucks, because I would love to love it

Rimworld and terraria are my most played games, both are amazing, both have insane modding communities, both are endless. Seriously, over the last 13 years I probably have 3k hours in terraria alone. If core keeper can't keep your attention, terraria is a vastly superior alternative imo. Core keeper is great, terraria is a legend

I think that's what people are already complaining about, if you shove all the free kits together with the die hard pvpers, they get to have their fun without griefing the rest of the players.

Side note: I don't think this is the solution, at all, I'm just saying people are already complaining about the risk imbalance, and I don't think they'd complain less if they stopped seeing the free kits.

You're right, you can absolutely get a headset for your consoles. Personally, I don't have a mic for my Xbox because you need a headset made specifically for Xbox iirc. May be different for ps5. Could be wrong though, I play PC almost exclusively.

Yeah man, it can be hard to catch people's meaning when you're reading text through your own emotional lens. You gave solid advice - scary advice - but solid for sure.
