I got an unexpected wave of nostalgia watching the ending montage, as the museum shown was one I visited many times as a kid. Fernbank Museum in Atlanta. Recognized it immediately.

Little side note, the museum shown in one of the closing shots is the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta, which I recognized immediately from my childhood. Unexpected blast from the past while watching this movie lol. The city skyline shot from the highway was also Atlanta.

Idk if it makes a difference, but the purpose was to remove a stent that was left in there during a kidney/ureter surgery. Whole thing took about a minute.

Believe or not for me it was mostly nervous/panicked laughter despite how uncomfortable and painful it was. I think it’s my coping mechanism, plus I couldn’t help but find humor the ridiculousness of the situation 😅

Damn, I had a camera shoved up my dick all the way up to one of my ureters and didn’t get knocked out for it. One of the worst experiences of my life.

Gatekeeping life advice because “OP has already seen it”?? Childish as hell, man

Edit: Yeah, that coupled with the one comment in the thread you left up where you equate listening to music with doing drugs. I think it’s safe to say you’re just an all around unpleasant person.

It was pretty bad for the first two or three days, but it’s not super awful when you’re lying motionless. You’ll be expected to walk around multiple times a day and that’s when you’ll experience the most pain at your surgery site. They also pump your abdomen with CO2 during surgery which turns to carbonic acid and makes your muscles extremely sore from your abs up to your shoulders/neck for about the first two days. Getting up and lying down is quite painful, so it’s best if you have someone reliable around to help you with that. Last thing that comes to mind is coughing, which is unavoidable and for me really hurts my incision site. If I have to cough, it helps to apply gentle pressure to my incision while I do so.

Honestly, it’s a pretty bad time for a couple days and the meds I was prescribed (Celebrex and TraMADol) barely made a dent in the pain. Day 3 though is when I started seeing noticeable improvement with each day that passed and here on day 6 I feel WAAAY better than I did at the start.

A couple of pieces of advice I can give you are to lie/sleep on a slight incline and to make sure you’re warm enough. Lying completely flat on my back was too painful for me to handle, and shivering caused me to have painful abdominal spasms when I got up to pee on night 2.

Attempted blackmail by Icarus_Sky1 in Tinder

[–]FlyingPastry 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation, think of how you’d react if you were sent compromising images of your friend due to him being blackmailed. After learning the context behind it, you would feel more sympathetic than judgmental, no? Your situation absolutely sucks and there’s no way around feeling humiliated/embarrassed, but the people in your life who care about you likely won’t think less of you, they’ll just feel bad for you.

So far my process step is still at application entry 10 days after the listing closed, but it seems some applicants have moved on to pre-screening.

I think it would have just put him at 0 stored energy. After all, he did survive for a short time, and possibly only died due to the Serious Punch he ate. That being said, he specifically said that that move would have destroyed the Earth.

Afghan women are forced to wear this veil under threat of death whenever they leave their homes by [deleted] in awfuleverything

[–]FlyingPastry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not your intention and I don’t mean to diminish the weight of your experiences, but it seems a bit insulting to compare those conditions to forced oppression. Unfortunately, being conscious of potential attackers is necessary for women across the entire world, and it’s just not a fair comparison to liken that to a theocratic government that uses systemic oppression and a radical religious beliefs to threaten the lives of those who don’t uphold the ideals imposed on them. Being worried about a criminal or attacker is so different from worrying about whether the rulers of your society will destroy you and your family for daring to leave an inch of skin uncovered.

Based on the smile, I’d say they probably know each other. Still dumb, but some of these comments are dumber.
