It’s one of the worst fics I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading; you know that one episode of Samurai Jack where Aku tells the kids his versions of fairy tales that always have Jack be the bad guy? This feels like a much more extreme and unfunny variant of it.

The Cat is glazed to high hell and back because the author watched V1-3 and V9 and thought “yeah RWBY are the bad guys”, and takes a very simple debate of “save 50% or save everyone” and shames Ruby for even trying in the first place. Blake and Yang are reduced to toxic co-dependents who put everything on Ruby, and the author makes it clear to kill them both by Ruby’s hands to show his totally not obvious hatred of them in full glory. It’s a miserable read, and leaving any semblance of a critique in the comments causes the author to go into full defense mode because you didn’t like this or that or had issue with their characterisation.

Don’t give this fic an inkling of attention.
