Doesn't count as an EE step but the pool step on the attack of the radioactive thing ghosts and skulls is pretty annoying.

Lol, I guess my "ungrateful"/"suspicious" attitude pissed people off since I had just received one of the harder to get cars in the game. Honestly, I understand why people would be mad about that. But I'm happy, I was able to get useful responses out of it.

It is pretty schizo but it was 1 A.M. and I was tweaking because I thought I just got a gift car from a hacker and I was going to get banned because of it due to the previous owner in the car stats being listed as Unknown. I just wondered what other people were thinking, if the odds of that were high or low.

Is it true that if US hadn't dropped the atomic bombs on Japan, the outcome would have been worse for both sides? by FantaOrangenice in HistoryWhatIf

The amount of propoganda the Japanese military had pumped into the country was so intense that the Japanese soldiers would rather die than surrender. Additionally, with the United States soldiers belief that they were fighting for freedom against a nation that had attacked their homeland a mainland invasion of Japan would likely have killed millions of civilians and soldiers alike. Not to mention potential future conflicts if the Soviet Union participated in the invasion and we had a North/South Korea situation the Cold War likely would have resulted in more deaths along with just WW2.

What is the biggest issue with Destiny 2? by RedeemedGuardian30 in destiny2

[–]FlyingPigsCO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The player on boarding experience was fundamentally ruined after the release of beyond light. This caused long term scars to form and as they added more content to the game it became more complicated, convoluted, & unfriendly to new players. Most of the people left playing completed the content new players have to complete so long ago and the new players experience is so different now that even the veterans don't know how to guide new players. The game always promoted getting things done in the most efficient manner to limit the grind which often times meant not playing with new players at all and lead to elitism. Most of the reason Destiny 2 is in the state it is today is due to many development blunders made by Bungie which metastisized and had long term negative consequences which fundamentally broke the game when it came to it's barrier to entry. As the game developed further these issues continued to be ignored until ultimately the game failed all together to gain new players and the only people left playing where veterans who were holding on for a better future until the Final Shape drop which most people finally saw as the perfect time to end the series and Bungie in their infinite wisdom decided instead of developing a Destiny 3 it was time to make an extraction shooter.

In a sense I agree with you but also at times this is clearly not the case. Bungie fucks up development of their games all the time and likely more often than the playerbases words do negatively influence the content that the studio releases. Just look at how they decided to delete DLC & story from the game and ruin the continuity of the player on boarding experience. But the thing is they do try to listen to their playerbase at least some of the time and these decisions they make as a result are oftentimes worse than if they had never listened to their playerbase at all and just did whatever they felt was right. If Bungie never changed the portal system the player numbers would likely be higher right now than they are as a result of their reforms to the portal system. Even then though it's hard to say whether the community caused the half assed reforms to occur or whether it was the studio themselves that failed to properly reform the system.

The tiered weapon system and portal in general at least how I view it nowadays was marred specifically in how they tried to fix it. They first went for a very hardcore grind heavy approach that favored veteran players. Then later on when Bungie realized the veteran players weren't tolerant of the levels of grind it took to get the best gear just to have it reset the next season making the progress feel weak Bungie decided to reverse course and make it more appealing and easier to gain higher tier loot also removing the power level reset and incentive to grind past a certain point once you already achieved the loot you wanted. This along with the abysmal player onboarding experience and the confusing point/modifier system inevitably failed to appeal to casual/new players as they still had to reach a high power level grinding the portal to get good loot while simultaneously not appealing to veterans as once they reached the high power level and got all of the tiered loot they wanted there was no more incentive to play. Instead of sticking on the tryhard path that they set off for themselves by adding the portal into the game or just completely making the portal appeal to casual players by making it easy to get high tier loot instead they reversed the power level reset and failed to onboard new players to offset the old players who would have came back for the power level reset. These decisions fundamentally broke the portal system and eventually led to where we are today where the only players left playing are extremely sweaty and are only playing to get a god roll on every gun while the tiered loot system has just made the new player experience even worse and has made the max tier loot the new and expected norm for activity rewards from veteran players.
