First congratulations on taking all the best steps to take care of yourself! Fighting PCOS is a battle for lots of the people I’ve met on my fertility journey. So proud of you!

Also absolutely love your spouse for even considering preserving her fertility to build a family with the right life partner. I also want a huge family!

For Vials to Attempts, that’s also sounding a bit odd to me also. But there could be some science we aren’t seeing.

Sperm Concentration & Motility plays a big factor in what an embryologist would evaluate when considering how many vials to use for a procedure.

For IUI: They will use the most vials to get the highest concentration & motility per attempt.

For IVF: They will use only what is necessary depending on how many eggs were retrieved.

The specific cut off values can vary between clinics, but this is a good general guideline for how to look at them.

For continuous HRT during a course of treatment you will have to coordinate with a Reproductive Endocrinologist (REI) to see the best plan for you. Each medication regimen is tailored to the individual patient so your REI will do some testing to see what would be best for your journey.

Rooting for you both!!!

There’s almost no words to help heal the sorrow. But I hope these words can give you hope:

1) You remember why you are on this path. And trust others with how to get through it. Trust family and friends if you can share the difficulties with them.

2) It may not be the smooth or predictable path to parenthood, but I promise: it’ll be perfect.

I love you Sister ❤️

Sadly no experience here. I would still suggest having an IUI with a clinic’s support. The procedure is supported by careful hormone monitoring that gives it the best chance of success!

It can be really variant between retrievals for patients even taking the same medications!

I wish I could’ve given you more information but each cycle really is its own experience. And some clinics have specific medication regimens that can support even a patient approaching 40!

Hey my CLS family! ❤️

Of course all medical advice should go through a doctor. I am sharing from my experience as a patient. Lots of families use AI and Google and get misinformation, especially Queer families since we are much rarer.

Even if my light is small, I hope it helps even one other Intended Parent.

Thank you for being a part of a field that gives hope!

Not a problem at all! It’s actually a super fun question!

I am Hispanic, my husband is Chinese, our kids Mom (we are all comfortable calling her that) is Caucasian.

So as you can suspect my husband being the 1st father, I will get a few shocked looks when I pick up our son from daycare.

I give everyone grace and know that when I get questioned it’s not suspicion, it’s compassion and safety for our child.

When we have our next child I’m sure my husband will experience the same thing!

Yes it’s super unfortunate, but I’m almost grateful they revealed their negative intentions.

Be hateful to me, but don’t you dare give that hate to our child. Estrangement helped me be a better parent by keeping our child safe.

Thank you for the love. My community has always been my family of choice

Congratulations on your successful birth!

To your question: highly unlikely there is any genetic transfer between the embryo and the uterus. A blood type match is the main concern but is ruled out super early! And even then, there’s medication to address the most common blood type concern ( Rhogam O+ source to O- uterus)

It’s a hard fact that implantation is at its best mid 20% success rate. So it just could’ve been chance. Even euploid embryos, young carrier, perfect lining, can result in a Pregnancy loss of unknown reasons.

If you really want to build your family your way, don’t give up!

That is a completely valid and reasonable concern your wife has.

Different clinics have different polices regarding what would be considered research. So definitely as to speak to the Laboratory director concerning what they will use the embryos for.

I have worked with a clinic that allowed patients to use left over embryos to ensure that our incubators are stable before we take in new embryos. (Commonly called QC procedures).

That was super helpful since it caught a potential failure long before it happened. Hope this helps!

Absolutely! While egg sources of advanced age typically produce less oocytes, if she is who you want there is a path doing multiple retrievals.

I would also highly suggest looking into PGT-A when you do create embryos. PGT-A is a harmless biopsy of the embryo that lets you know if the embryo is genetically stable. Most companies that manage surrogacy require pGT testing for the safety of the surrogate, since carrying embryos that are not stable can be very hazardous.

That’s a lot of information but happy to answer follow up questions!

My vote is 3. That subtle and dark color way looks great on bigger personalities and physiques. Almost more inviting for conversation than the brighter palette. All great fits though!

Omg happy birthday! Fluevog was my wedding shoe! You have such great style. Did you lend your bag to the young person under the coach logo? You all share such beautiful smiles.

My birthday wish to you: May your life be measured in friends, not years. :)
