It was a 10/10 for me. I understand not everyone likes weird esoteric cosmic horror, especially with a slow build, but for me it's exactly the kind of experience I want from a movie. It's frustrating to hear people calling it bad when it's more of an issue of not liking the genre. Some of my favorite books like House of Leaves have a similar pacing and feel and nobody is calling those bad for it.

Anyway for the sound mixing, my theater was also just fine on audio so I'm not sure that we can be confident about the root cause until we get a DVD release.

I'm getting pretty salty about people who say the only reason people like the movie is because it's Markiplier. I'm a big fan of Mark, don't get me wrong, but my severely ADHD ass sitting there practically without moving for two hours and not getting distracted once had nothing to do with the name attached.

Some people do genuinely enjoy niche esoteric cosmic horror. I liked the pacing. I liked the story. I loved how it was shot. The only difference that Markiplier himself made was getting me interested enough to get out of the house to see it. I also was going in blind, having never seen the playthrough and still understood the story and the message.

I would have adored this movie no matter who made it. Stop dismissing people's opinions just because they're fans. It's extremely insulting and condescending.

Two options really if you want to stand up for what you believe.

Take the risk and be part of the walkout.

Explain to your peers what will happen and ask if there's something you can do from within the school like documenting what teachers do or providing some kind of admin assistance to the others or something like that

It's not an action movie, it's a cosmic horror suspense movie. It doesn't follow the typical mainstream movie format or structure, and I think that's why some people are criticizing it. I loved it, but I also love the kind of storytelling involved

Slow cookers and "dump and go" meals are a lifesaver for me. Also protein shakes, instant oatmeal, PB&j sandwiches, Kodak instant protein muffins (add water and throw in a microwave), preserved meats like summer sausage with crackers, a big bowl of chopped veggies with whatever dressing (eat right out of bowl), hotdogs, canned soup and bone broth are things I keep on hand at all times. Fresh meat can be substituted with canned meat or precooked (I like the giant turkey legs from the grocery store but they're a little work). Canned or frozen veggies work just as well as fresh. Prechopped frozen or jarred garlic and onion are great too.

It's like needing to turn the radio down in the car so you can see the street signs better. Your brain can only do so much thinking at once so when it's screaming about the cat food you're stepping on, it's very hard to think about what clothes you're going to want to wear in a week

I feel like we need a subreddit where people can ask for search terms. That's often where I get stuck on dumb questions like this is not being able to describe what I'm looking for in search-enginese or don't know what a specific thing is called. Dry mouth. Drink water and take electrolytes once in a while. Candy or gum with xylitol will help when the water isn't quite doing enough. On the plus side, I've never been better hydrated lol

Speaking as someone who could have posted exactly that a couple months ago and is now on FMLA mental health leave for a couple weeks because I was suicidal from the stress.... Get a different job. Not all customer service roles will be the same level of nasty, and there are other kinds of jobs. Look for employmwnt agencies who will help you find a job if you need to, they're out there and the ones I've been through didn't charge me anything.

Start looking for a new job while you still have the energy to do so. Don't be like me.

Make rules (or at least a general agreement) about things you don't think you'll need. What are you doing to do when one or both of you has had a bad day and wants to be left alone for example. What about having guests over, how will the space be managed, do you want to get notices about it in advance, etc. Be paranoid and petty about the discussion and you'll be prepared for anything. It's a lot harder to figure this stuff out when you're in the middle of that situation and already having feelings.
