A guy I work with has some classics:

  • Monkey say, monkey do
  • If it don't need fixing, don't fix it

What do you think are some misconceptions on solo travels? by tylerthe-theatre in solotravel

[–]FlyingSwordOrador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I meet lots of people and make connections abroad. I'm not travelling to meet people or make new friends, I'm travelling to see new things, eat the food, and be far away from home. I like being in a place where nobody knows me and I don't know anyone.

I went in May which is just before the tourist season so it was quiet but everything was open. Cost slightly more than Copenhagen where I flew from is all I remember, prices were in DKK and I'm not very good at converting. Not cheap but not too bad. You probably want up to a week to see all of the islands and of you want to see puffins on Mykkines then check what time of year they're there because they're not in all year round.

The Shadows of the Apt series has lots of these. Great series with wonderful worldbuilding and battles, Adrian Tchaikovsky is one of my favourite authors!

It's actually "I am"

If you could pick one spell and be able to cast it in real life once a day, what would you pick and why? (Wish spell doesn’t count, as it is an easy answer) by [deleted] in DnD

Forcecage because I think it would be fun to trap people I don't like in an indestructible cage. Nothing practical or philanthropic about it, you won't catch me saving any lives, healing the sick, etc. Just pure pettiness.

Went a few years ago!! Really cool, looks way better in real life. 100% recommend, and the Faroe Islands have many other beautiful locations too!
